My Experience with Aroma Essentials Sandalwood Vetiver Body Butter
This body butter comes in a basic plastic packaging. Truth be told, I am not a fan of the packaging. Don’t get me wrong, it is functional. But in today’s day and age, it kind of takes away from the attractiveness of the product itself.
The body butter itself is exactly like Amul butter softened at room temperature-minus that extra grease. The texture is delightfully creamy and gets instantly absorbed in. There is no heavy or greasy feeling left behind. With some products, I just feel like they leave a layer on my skin. But not with this one. I will give it full marks for the texture and feel.
Now the main point for me-the fragrance. With sandalwood products, you expect that artificial Mysore sandal soap scent don’t you? I mean Mysore sandal soap is great….but it is a bit too much and has none of the woody dry downs that true sandalwood has.
This one though is utterly on the money! It smells like woody sandalwood with ginger to balance the sweetness and vetiver to add on to the earthiness. In total love. This is, by the way, the EXACT match of the Forest Essentials Sandalwood Vetiver soap (minus the mild butter rancidity).
Moisturization wise, it’s an above average product. Not the best, but it does what it claims. If you have super dry skin, apply it more frequently. Otherwise, you are good to go!

- Gets absorbed quickly
- Does not leave behind any greasy feeling
- Smells heavenly-totally addictive
- The fragrance lingers on the skin for a couple of hours
Negatives
- Not a fan of the packaging
- Short shelf life (but it’s completely chemical free-so understandable)
- A bit pricey (But again justified. We pay a tad more for body shop body butter and this one’s better)
Overall Would I repurchase and recommend?
I am in absolute love with this product. You know, those products that you really like and have to RATION to use? Well, this is that product for me. Comes highly recommended.
