Ben Nye Translucent Face Powder Ebony

My experience with the Ben Nye Translucent Face Powder Ebony

Packaging

The powder comes in a transparent bottle that allows you to see the shade of the product. The mouth of the bottle has filters, so just the right amount of product is let out. Also, it has a black cover that closes on tightly. Overall, the packaging of the product is decent.

Shade

So the shade Ebony is quite dark and so it works only for darker skin tones. However, since it doesn’t suit my skin tone and I didn’t want to waste the product, I’ve started using it as a contour powder and it works quite well.

Texture

The powder is finely milled and glides on smoothly. Although, you can feel that there is a product it has a butter-like texture to it.

Pigmentation

Pigmentation of this product is quite strong. Even for a sharp contour, a lot of product is not needed. So in this area, it gets full points.

Staying Power

Like I’ve mentioned, I’ve only used it as a contour powder and I’m quite impressed with the way it stays on and looks till the end. I have no issues here.

Transfer Proof

So I’ve had no issue with this product transferring. However though, if the weather is bad and you’re sweating and the product hasn’t been set…then the product does transfer a tad bit when dabbed with a tissue. But otherwise, no.

Affordability

In my opinion, INR 1900 is a bit too much. It’s not affordable and I know of brands that do an equally good job and are priced lower.

What do I like?
  1. Texture
  2. Shade for contour
  3. Pigmentation
  4. Long lasting
  5. Decent packaging
What do I not like?
  1. Transfers to tissue when sweating
  2. Highly Priced
Would I repurchase & recommend?

So, the product does a good job. But, I prefer using a cream based product for my contour and so I wouldn’t repurchase it. However, for darker skin tones, it could work well as a translucent powder.
