I often find myself totally confused at the makeup counters as I try to shop for the perfect lipstick for myself. There are so many shades and textures to choose from. Liquid lipsticks, moisturizing lipsticks, lip pencils, lip crayons… there is an endless variety available.  For me, however, the first and the most important factor for choosing a lipstick is the right shade. My search for the perfect plum shade ended with Colorbar Take Me As I Am Lipstick Plum Rage 021.

This lip colour comes in the form of a thick pencil that is in fact very easy to apply. The company claims that this product has a ‘high dose of moisturizing and skin conditioning benefits.’ It also claims to be dermatologically approved.

My experience with Colorbar Take Me As I Am Lipstick Plum Rage 021

Packaging: This lip pencil comes smartly packed in a silver box with a sharpener which is also packed in a similar silver box. The lip color comes with a thick pencil which can be sharpened as you use it. This is a great option as it is more hygienic than the regular lipsticks. The pencil is black with its bottom in the shade of the lip color. The cap fits tightly, so there is no chance of it coming off and staining your purse.

Application instructions:

Just draw the outline first and fill in the rest. This pencil lip color is very easy to apply.

Smooth and creamy – these are the first words that come to come to mind as I think of how to describe this lip color. The application is quite easy as the pencil is quite soft. The creamy texture ensures that you do not have to apply too many strokes. However, this does not mean that the color bleeds. The quality of the color is also quite good as it can stay on for 4 to 5 hours easily.

Plum rage 21 is a beautiful shade, great for darker complexions. Though I originally bought it for an evening event, I find myself wearing it during daytime events quite often.

Do be careful while sharpening this pencil as you can waste a fair amount if it is not sharpened properly. Also, please be cautious while putting the cap back on as you can damage the tip and this can again cause wastage.

Though I have loved this shade, I find the product rather expensive. You also tend to waste the lip color as you sharpen it, so I feel I will end up using the whole thing faster than a regular lipstick. Go for it if money is not the issue as it is definitely a good quality product.
