Dahi Ki Sabzi: So you have been working for the whole week. You are bone tired and just want a hot meal in your tummy. At times like these, I have the urge to dial that local pizza delivery and grease binge my way to guilt! This recipe today is dedicated to those days…when you just don’t have the time or the urge to fuss. Still, who says you cannot enjoy, yummy tangy deliciousness 😉
It will take you a grand total of 10 minutes to make; just steam some rice on the other stove 😛 This dahi ki sabzi recipe, is so simple, you cannot believe!
Ingredients Required For Dahi ki Sabzi :
- 1 Onion chopped
- 1 Tomato chopped
- 2 Chilies chopped
- 1/4 Teaspoon Garam Masala
- 1/2 Teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 Teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 2-3 Dried Red Chilies
- 1 Teaspoon Ghee for Tempering
- 1 Cup curd / Yogurt (preferably sour )
- 1 Teaspoon Gram Flour
- 1 pinch Hing or Asafoetida.
- Salt to taste
Method of Making Dahi Ki sabzi
Add 1 tablespoon oil in a heavy-bottomed skillet. Once it heats up add the cumin seeds to it. Then add the chopped green chilies.
once the chilies start to fry add the onions. Saute for 2-3 minutes. Add garam masala, coriander powder and salt. Once the onions have decently fried, add the chopped tomatoes and fry for another minute.
Now, add the gram flour and roast it for a minute to get rid of the floury taste. Now add the beaten curd, little by little. Keep stirring continuously. Let the gravy come to a boil while stirring continuously, then leave it down to simmer.Meanwhile plate your rice, set your table.
In the last minute, just take one teaspoon of ghee in a small skillet, add red chilies and astafoetida. Let them crackle and pour over the cooked gravy. Ladle this savory yumminess over the rice. It will taste tangy, warm and sublime. This is simple, no fuss comfort food…something that will save you those extra calories and money on restaurant food!!
