Experience
At some point in time, I got obsessed with eyeshadows and purchased this really pretty palette from NYX professionals perfect filter eyeshadow palette in “rustic antique”. The shade range is very pretty and I found this to be suitable enough to be used for any occasion, day or night. The shade ranges from light creams, to light oranges to golds to rose golds in browns and rustic grey shade. This palette can be used to create various kinds of looks. Some of the shades of this palette are shimmery and some of them are absolutely matte. The shimmery shades have fallen out but the matte shades are pretty good. They don’t make the eye lids oily and also stays on for a good 3 to 4 hours if an eye shadow primer is applied prior to the application of these eye shadows. But, the shades are very powdery and chalky, which makes it difficult to blend while wanting to create different eye looks. Some of the shades just don’t show up at all even after multiple swipes. This is not something that is expected from NYX. In all, for the price, the pigmentation is not so great and the blendability is also just mediocre. I wouldn’t really recommend this and I didn’t like this palette as well.
Pros
- Great packaging
- Nice collection of shades
- Doesn’t make lids oily
Cons
- Not too good pigmentation
- Some shades just don’t show up
- No applicator provided
- Chalky and powdery
- Very expensive
- Not blendable
- Not creamy
Would I repurchase or recommend this?
No, I wouldn’t repurchase or recommend this palette since it doesn’t stand up to its claims and definitely not worth the price.
Rating: 2.5/5
Glossypolish verdict: The NYX palette is not a great buy since the pigmentation is very poor and the shades are chalky. Some shades don’t show up and the price is pretty high, so this product is definitely not recommended.
