My past few reviews have mostly been about makeup products. But today, I’m going to talk about a skin care product. So, I discovered sheet masks a while ago, and since then I’ve been using it whenever I have an occasion. And so far, I’ve mostly seen only positive results. Some months ago, Nykaa was having an offer on The Face Shop sheet masks and since I hadn’t tried the brand before, I decided to pick them up. I recently had a wedding to attend and so I decided to use The Real Nature Red Ginseng Face Mask the night before. And so, I’m going to review the product for you’ll.

How to use product

• After washing face, arrange skin texture with toner. Unfold the mask sheet
• Spread over face, adjusting from eyes to nose
• After 10~15 minutes, take the mask off and lightly tap the leftover essence for absorption

 

My Experience with The Face Shop Real Nature  Red Ginseng Face Mask

So when I selected the variants from the Nykaa website, I just chose them randomly. And Red Ginseng was one of them. Now, I honestly had no clue about what Red Ginseng was, so I looked it up on the internet.  So what I picked up was that Ginseng is mostly found in eastern Asia, in cooler climates and is used in Chinese traditional medicine. Apparently, it has a lot of benefits for reducing stress, improving memory, weight loss and also prevents cancer. When it comes to skin, it is an anti-aging ingredient and also tones and brightens skin because of the many phytonutrients that it contains.

The packaging of the product has a grey bark-like background with four pieces of ginseng. Now, to be very honest, it isn’t very attractive and won’t grab your attention. When I browse through products, I like it when it’s appealing and catches my attention. As for the consistency, the serum is very liquidy and takes time for the skin to absorb the product. Also, in most other face shop sheet masks, the serum is transparent, this had a slightly brownish color to it. As for the sheet mask, I have the same complaint that I did in my one of my previous reviews, the size is completely off. It just doesn’t sit right on the face and keeps slipping off. (I’m going to add a picture of it on my face, please don’t laugh 😀 ) But what upset me about it the most is that I kept the serum on overnight and when I woke up and washed my face, there wasn’t even a slight effect. So basically, the red ginseng mask did nothing for me. There wasn’t even a tad bit of difference, which was upsetting. (Again, I’m going to add an image of my face the next morning, please ignore the morning face ).
