Ben Nye Lumiere Crème Color Review

Two and a half years ago, when I started doing makeup and was building my kit, I came across Ben Nye Lumiere Crème Color. The Ben Nye Lumiere Crème Color comes in stackable, each stack with five shades.

Basic Info About Ben Nye Lumiere Crème Color Cosmic Blue, Jade, Azalea, Sun Yellow, Royal Purple, Ice, Gold Dust, Silver, Bronze, and Indian Copper

Price

I’m not too sure of how much I had paid for each stackable, but the current price for each shade is approximately Rs 600 each.

What the brands claim about Lumiere Crème Color-

Ben Nye Lumiere Creme Colour is a luminous crème based makeup. The Creme Colors offer the same radiant shimmer as Lumiere colors, but with a satiny blendable application. These rich colors go on like silk and are intensely pigmented. Use Lumiere Cremes to create fantasy designs that are easy to apply. You do not use the Lumiere Creme colors with water, and they need to be set with a setting powder and removed with makeup remover. These Lumiere Creme Colors come in 0.3 ounce stackable containers.

My experience with Ben Nye Lumiere Crème Color Cosmic Blue, Jade, Azalea, Sun Yellow, Royal Purple, Ice, Gold Dust, Silver, Bronze, and Indian Copper

Like I mentioned above, each stack comes with five shades. The shades in stack 1 are Cosmic Blue, Jade, Royal Purple, and Sun Yellow & Azalea. And Stack 2 has shades Ice, Gold Dust, Silver, and Bronze & Azalea. The shades in both the stacks are just gorgeous. Since I tend to lean more towards the brighter shades, I’ve end up using the purple and blue stack more often.

The color payoff of this product is pretty darn good. However though, since it is a crème based product, it tends to smudge and get patchy. So obviously, it doesn’t last for too long. To make sure it stays on for a while, I always set it with a powder eyeshadow. But then, the whole purpose of using a particular shade is lost. Another thing is, no matter what you do, whether you use a primer or set it with eyeshadow, it still creases. So that’s a little disappointing. As for the texture, it’s very smooth and satin-like, like the brand says, so it glides on easily. The packaging of the product is quite nice, I like the stacked form. However, now the product comes in a palette with more shades.

Overall Performance of Ben Nye Lumiere Crème Color Cosmic Blue, Jade, Azalea, Sun Yellow, Royal Purple, Ice, Gold Dust, Silver, Bronze, and Indian Copper

Positives

  • Beautiful shades
  • Good color payoff
  • Smooth Texture
  • Easy Application
  • Good Packaging

Negatives

  • Not smudge Proof
  • Patchy finish
  • Not long lasting
  • Expensive

Would I repurchase and recommend?

I’m a little unsure! While the color payoff is really good, I prefer products that are smudge free and last long. So I’d probably look for other products first and if I can’t find something similar, only then will I come back to this.
