Maybelline Color Jolt Matte Intense Lip Paint 07 Vanity Violet Review

Violet is gracefully enjoying the spotlight in the makeup world currently. Every brand is coming out with their own version of violet makeup products like eyeshadows or liners, blushes and lip colors. On top of that violet is going to be the Pantone color of 2018! Today I have also come up with something violet, it’s the Color Jolt Matte Intense Lip Paint 07 Vanity Violet by Maybelline. In 2017’s festive season, Maybelline launched a number of high-intensity lip colors in a different formula. The Color Jolt series was one of them. I have used a shade of red from this series and loved it. This time it is the turn of 07 Vanity Violet. Let’s read on to know further.

My Experience with Maybelline Color Jolt Matte Intense Lip Paint 07 Vanity Violet

Packaging- This lip paint comes in a small tube with slanted felt-tip applicator. The tube is matte finish and its screw cap has a velvety finish. The body of the tube is colored in deep pink keeping the synchrony with the lip paint’s shade. The packaging is very convenient and travel-friendly; it literally fits anywhere in the purse.

Shade & Pigmentation- Vanity Violet is a fuchsia-violet kind of shade with the proper blend of cool and warm undertones. The shade gives a very fresh look on the face. The shade has its share of boldness so it is certainly not a work-wear kind, but it can be worn for both day and evening occasions. This lip paint is super pigmented like the other shade I tried from this range. Even as a tint its color payoff is quite good. It gives full coverage to pigmented Indian lips.

Texture- This lip paint has thick and creamy texture. It gets spread easily and settles into a comfortable matte finish. It does not feel uncomfortable to the lips as it becomes light and non-sticky after few seconds of application. The texture is not 100% transfer-proof but it transfers very little.

Fragrance- It has a very faint citrus smell to it. The fragrance lingers for only a few initial seconds and then the lip cream becomes completely fragrance-free.

Staying Power- It lasts for 5-6 hours with the full intensity of the shade and moisturizing property. After that, the moisturizing feel starts to lessen and finally, the shade starts to lose its pigment after 7 hours. It survives drinks but meals make the lips to lose the tint from the center part of my lips. But, pursing my lips brings back the even finish again.

Experience- This shade of violet has become my new favorite. I am really astonished as I was not even comfortable in bold violet lip colors before! This shade is perfect to bring life to otherwise neutral makeup looks. Its warm tone compliments my skin’s undertone and the vibrant color makes me look jolly. I have tried this color with my traditional outfits as well as fusion outfits and the result was not bad! This can be used to make customized cream blush by mixing a tiny amount of this lip paint with a moisturizer.

No one rocks a purple lipstick like you do. And I absolutely agree with you. Some of the Maybelline lipsticks leave behind a tint even after removing them with make up remover. Amazing review.

Thank you :-) :love Maybelline's Colorshow brights range lipsticks leave behind almost opaque tint but thankfully these lip paint stains the lips lesser! The staining problem is ever present with Maybelline..
