I was recently going through a lipstick obsession phase. I got like loads of MAC lippies, Lip Liners, Reverse Lipliners the works. I came across this new offering from Sigma Beauty – their Sigma Indulgent Lip Base. Since Sigma Lip Base Indulgent was the closest MLBB (my lips but better shade) I promptly purchased it 😛

What does the Brand Claim about Sigma Lip Base Indulgent:
The Lip Base was created to line the lips with its point and can also be used to fill in the whole lip using its edge. It can be worn alone as a matte long-wearing lip product or under another product as a base. Its function as a base will amplify the color on top of it and add a more solid, uniform color base to your overall lip look.

How to Use:
Apply on prepped lips. If you are very fair you can use this as a lip color as well. I feel it washes out yellow skin tones…so if you have a warm skin tone, this is best used as a lip base.
My Experience with Sigma Beauty | Sigma Indulgent Lip Base
First up the packaging. Totally a fan! It’s sleek, luxurious and classy. The cap fits on the wooden lip crayon perfectly. It’s more like a fat lip pencil. I guess if they would have provided a sharper with it that would have been the best, but oh well.
This particular shade indulgent has a creamy opaque finish. It is nicely pigmented. Although the color shows more like the MAC TWIG lipstick, on the hands…on the lips it is much lighter and pinkish. This color does tend to wash my complexion out a bit. I feel it is excellent for cool toned beauties.
Still, despite the fact that the color didn’t suit me much; I love how comfortably it sits on the lips. I have started using it a primer and foundation on my lips. It increases the staying power of my lipstick and does not let it bleed. So in a way it’s like I have been given a natural lip shade to nullify my lip flaws. Totally love it for that.
As a lip base its 10/10. Any lipstick applied over it gives an intense pop of shade. If you have any lip color which is less vibrant than it should be, I suggest you try using it over this lip base.

Positives
- Neutral color that can be used with most lipsticks
- Intensifies the color of the lipstick
- Does not dry lips out
- Prevents the lipstick from bleeding
- Makes the lipstick stay longer
Negatives
- Cannot be used as a lipstick alone by the yellow toned beauties.
Overall Would I repurchase and recommend?
I don’t think I will need to purchase this anytime soon. This it will easily last 1-2 years for me. By then, who knows what new product comes 😉 I would, in the meantime recommend this as a pretty good product!
