Biotique Bio Honey Water Toner Review

Biotique Bio Honey Water Toner: I am always searching for a good toner for my skin. An effective toner for my skin must be something that helps with unclogging pores and reduce acne. Astringents work for my skin but they have that annoying drying property. So, this time I went all ‘Ayurvedic’ and brought home Biotique Bio Honey Water Clarifying Toner with Himalayan Waters. I have used Biotique’s Cucumber Water toner a few years ago but that one worked like any other astringent. Honey water seemed more promising in the moisturizing department so I ended up buying this one. Read on to know about this toner in detail.

Price- Rs.175 for 120ml

My Experience with Biotique Honey Water Toner

Packaging- This toner comes in a translucent cylindrical shaped plastic bottle with a screw cap. There is a whole at the opening to dispense the product. The toner bottle is housed in a cardboard outer pack and properly sealed to secure the product inside. The packaging is sturdy and leak proof.

Colour & Texture– The toner is basically a light pink liquid. Its consistency is very thin and watery. This toner is very similar to strong astringents. It has that alcohol smell and feels in it. The alcohol like part evaporates fast and leaves behind some watery liquid, which I think is the actual toner. When the bottle is shaken, the liquid inside forms a little bubble.

Fragrance- There is a very light floral scent in it other than the typical strong smell of alcohol like material. The fragrance is very freshening and has a unique Ayurvedic touch to it. I really enjoy the fragrance (obviously minus the alcohol part!).

Experience- I am not pleased to experience astringent like alcohol-y feeling in this toner with ‘100% Ayurvedic Recipe’. It would have been a 5 out of 5 toners if that annoying alcohol part was absent. This reason will prevent it to be ‘for all skin types’. However, for my acne prone combination skin, this one showed good results. It gives a very fresh feeling to the skin, the pores appear less visible temporarily and the pimples get healed faster. So, the clarifying claim is all true with this toner. In spite of its astringent like formula, this toner does not dry out my skin. It leaves a little bit of hydrating feel to my skin which combats the stretchy feeling I often experience after cleansing. It also gives a bright and healthy looking skin as the impurities get cleansed. I have been using this toner as a spot treatment for my recent acne breakouts. I am applying this toner in excess to my cheeks where the pimples are in havoc. I use moisturizer afterward but not in the affected area. It was able to bring a noticeable difference in those big bumps of acne in 3 days!

  4. Does not give a dry stretchy feel to my skin
  5. Makes the pores appear less visible temporarily
  6. Freshening fragrance

Cons-

  1. Will not suit sensitive, dry or extra dry skin

Would I Repurchase or Recommend?

For my acne prone skin, Biotique Bio Honey Water Clarifying Toner with Himalayan Waters worked nicely and helped with pore cleansing, acne fighting, etc. but for dry or sensitive skin the formula might be too strong. I am going to repurchase it for sure but will suggest this to only oily, normal or combination skinned ones. It is quite effective as a spot treatment for my active pimples!

Rating-4/5(This rating is for acne-prone combination or oily skin.

We always tend to skip toning during cleaning but it is the most essential step to be followed

Thanks Meghal :rose:
I used to skip toning frequently. But now I do this step regularly and there is significant change in my skin’s texture and acne breakouts..
