My Experience with Nykaa Matte To Last Liquid Lipstick Mishti Review
Packaging
This lipstick comes in a clear plastic container with a matte black lid. A sponge-tip applicator wand is attached to the lid. I have bought the mini version of this lipstick. The full version has slightly different packaging than this and its wand is of slanted doe-foot shape. The packaging is compact and travel-friendly.
Shade, Pigmentation & Texture
Mishti is a vibrant red shade with pink undertones. The shade looks way pinker than MAC’s Ruby Woo if you swatch them side by side. Pigmentation is superb; you can expect full intensity in one stroke. I don’t have to dip the wand twice to achieve full opacity. The texture is smooth and creamy when the lipstick is wet so it spreads evenly without patchiness. It sets into a comfy matte finish.
Fragrance
It has a light vanilla fragrance that goes off as soon as the lipstick starts to set on the lips.
My Experience
Red border white saree, kohl-rimmed eyes, and bold red lips define the traditional Bengali look. Though most of us do not even wear makeup on an everyday basis, people outside West Bengal tags Bengalis with kajal and red lipstick. It’s true that we are obsessed with red lips since ancient times. Ladies of my grandma’s generation used to use betel leaf to tint their lips but now it’s all about red lipsticks! This Nykaa lipstick is inspired by our state and it’s capital Kolkata. The shade reminds me of the red tint Alta that married women wear on their feet and hands-on Thursdays or on rituals. This type of red is quite uncommon among the warm orange-based or blue-based reds. The shade is bold and has a festive vibe. That is why I bought this for Durga Puja. The shade stays on for 5-6 hours with drinks or light snacks. The center part gets removed with heavy oily meals. It leaves behind a light red-pink tint on the lips which looks like naturally pink lips.
Overall Performance of Nykaa Matte To Last Liquid Lipstick Mishti
Pros:
- Beautiful bold red shade with pink undertones
- Looks nice on everyone
- The color payoff is good
- Does not exaggerate fine lines of lips
- Stays intact for at least 5-6 hours without meals
- Transfer-proof
- Does not dry out the lips over
- Smooth and even application
Cons:
- The full version comes at Rs.599 with 5mlof product whereas this mini one has just 1.2ml of product for Rs.239. Mini one should have been slightly bigger or lesser in price.
Would I Repurchase or Recommend it?
This is definitely something unique for you if you are a red lipstick lover. Plus, the shade looks pretty irrespective of skin tone and undertone. If you want to buy one bold lipstick from Nykaa’s matte range then this one is worth considering. I will make a repurchase when this mini one finishes.
