Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm Review

Balm cleansers are the new in thing! Eve Lom is the cult favorite and quickly many brands like Clinique and the Bodyshop have come up with their versions. Basically what a balm cleanser does is, it is an oil based balm that melts into your skin. Since most impurities, makeup and dust are oil based, the balm cleansers kind of attach themselves to them and when the oil comes off, so do loads of impurities and oils accumulated in our skin.

I recently purchased this Balance me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm from Sephora. I am utterly in love with their wrinkle fix that is like the best eye cream ever. You can see the detailed review here.

My Experience with Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm

The balm cleanser comes in a tube packaging. Make sure you store it in a cold place. Why I insist on storing this in a cold place is, this literally becomes oil in the Indian heat. If you don’t wish to spoil your clothes, better keep it nice and cold 🙂

The balm cleanser has a soft Vaseline texture, but not so thick. It’s like Vaseline that instantly melts. I really dislike the smell, it’s not soothing and definitely like a mixture of oils. This has small oats granules that are not too harsh but do provide a good amount of scrubbing action. So consider this as a heavy duty cleanser. This comes with a muslin cloth. So what you are supposed to do is, apply the cleanser, all over face and neck. Let it rest for a minute or so.

Then wipe off with a muslin cloth dipped in hot water and squeezed. This makes sure that the balm cleanser is removed thoroughly and that instant of warm contact really melts the impurities while opening your pores. Repeat the process as many times as desired.

I do a double cleanse second step then. Using my trusty Sebamed cleanser that I have reviewed here. Now this is a really deep cleansing skin treatment. If you are one of those people, who apply makeup daily. This is a great option. For those of you who don’t use makeup, use this product for a once in a week treatment. The Muslin cloth is pretty useless, so use your own wash towel.

See if you have to use a balm cleanser, this is a pretty good option. Especially if you use makeup on a daily/ regular basis. I recommend it.
