My Experience with Himalaya Anti-Dandruff Hair Oil
Packaging-
This oil comes in a clear plastic bottle. The bottle has a screw-open cum flip-open cap of green color. The packaging has nothing new in it; it is just a standard Himalaya packaging for their oils. The packaging is quite sturdy and after dropping a few times by accident, the packaging has not disintegrated. I have no other option but to give this reusable packaging a high five!
Colour & Texture-
The hair oil is slightly yellowish transparent liquid. Its color is getting yellower with time. This is a normal thing as the packaging mentions this could happen with it. The oil is very lightweight and gets absorbed as I massage it into the hair and scalp. This oil is not heavy; its consistency is thinner than organic coconut oil. It does not create that sticky ‘chip chip’ effect to the hair if used in appropriate quantity.
Fragrance-
This oil has a herbal smell. There is a light hint of tea tree oil scent in it. The fragrance is light and is not of bothering kind. I am not too fond of its fragrance still I can bear it. If you are using this as pre-shampoo oil on the night before hair wash, you will have a light whiff of it in your hair but the smell is completely gone after hair wash.
Experience-
Let’s begin about my experience by saying, this oil could do nothing on my dandruff issue. This is a lightweight hair oil with certain good ingredients but other than providing nourishment to my hair, I did not experience anything extraordinary. Himalaya Herbals skincare range works wonders for my skin. Their neem range has been able to take care of my pimples at bay whenever I had bad acne bouts. But this oil is certainly not comparable to those products. I have sticky dandruff. My dandruff sometimes causes itchiness and hair fall. I feel this oil is not enough for my problem. The itchiness remains as it is after regular usage and the same thing happens with the hair fall due to dandruff.
Pros-
- Nourishes hair
- Contains some good herbal ingredients like neem, rosemary and tea tree oil
- Easily available
Cons-
- Failed to treat my dandruff problem
- Itchiness problem and hair fall due to dandruff remains same after repeated use
Would I Repurchase or Recommend?
No and no! Himalaya Herbals Anti-Dandruff Hair Oil could not do anything for my dandruff and itchy scalp problem. So I am certainly not buying it again or recommending this to anyone! Plain organic coconut oil works just as same in the fraction of the price!
