When Lakme first introduced Weightless Matte Lip and Cheek Color, my first reaction was that it might not be as good as my MAC satin mocha lipstick. Therefore, I had no intention to buy it especially after the horrendous reviews by some friends. However, this shade – Coffee Lite stole my attention. Therefore, when the sale season started I couldn’t resist from purchasing and ended up buying it!

My Experience with Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Lip & Cheek Color Coffee Lite

Ever since I got this particular color, Coffee Lite, I simply couldn’t stop wearing it. Now I love anything coffee and this lip color is perfect if you do too. Read on. 😉

The packaging of Lakme 9 to 5 products are also in rose gold and stunning in its own way. The Weightless Matte Lip and Cheek Color come in a long cylindrical bottle with an opaque body and golden screw cap. The packaging is lightweight, sturdy and travels friendly. The shape of the brush is in the form of a tear drop and gives you the precise application. The pointy end is great for doing the edges and corners and spreads the color well on the lips.

Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Lip & Cheek Color Coffee Lite Review

It is a taupe brown with mauve undertones. There is no shimmer, thankfully! The color is my go-to color for daytime, office and any other formal occasion. It is one of those colors which stands out without making you look pale or bold. The color leans to the neutral side for dusky to deeper skin tones while for fair to medium skin tone; the color is more of a mauve-brown. As a cheek color, it blends in to give a mauve kind of shade. The color could be like a natural earthy color for medium to deeper skin tones.

The pigmentation of the color is really good and in a single swipe, you get the desired color. It gives the rich color on the lips and also effectively hides the minor discolorations on the lips. Thus, you can skip the lip liner if you want. Honestly, I only use a lip liner with this when I have ample amount of time or I want my lips to look fuller. The pigmentation is just about okay on the cheeks as well. I would say, the start will few dots and then slowly build up the color.  However, it did not work as a blush tone for me and I use it just as a lipstick.

The consistency is like a creamy mousse with an air-light touch. The weightless formula can easily be identified when you apply and it literally feels nothing. The lip cream is great for daily wear and gives you the perfect formula.

As a blush, the texture is good but you have to work very quickly. It sets and thus needs to be blended before drying out.

The finish of the lip color is powdery matte. It is one of the most comfortable matte finishes and any given day, I would prefer this texture over liquid lipsticks but just as a lipstick.
