Why buy one shade of eye shadow when you can get 12 together? That too at a loot price! There was a lot of hype about this product right before its launch in 2014. Mainly because of two reasons. Firstly it was probably the first branded product to be available in drugstores because of its affordability and secondly it was first of its kind. 12 shades in one palette for such a price was never heard of before. Immediately after its launch great reviews about it started pouring from all over. Intrigued I ordered it last year. So far I am completely satisfied with this product and you would be too as you read through.

My Experience with Maybelline the Nudes Palette
I use this product often without any problem so far. It’s a good product considering how affordable it is. Although the product is not as pigmented as I would have liked, it can still pull off casual looks. I however have not been able to create a good Smokey eye with this. It doesn’t last much long and requires a lot of layers of application before the color shows.
People with darker eyelids need to apply a base foundation cream or primer and then apply this eye shadow. It consists of 7 shimmer colors which are more than we ever use and roughly 5 shades consisting of black, brown, light brown and Beige and tan. The shades 1 and 11 are very chalky and difficult to work with. The eye shadows are smooth and blend easily. The brush provided along with it isn’t that great hence I use a different eye shadow brush. I use it exclusively for subtle eye makeup.
Positives of Maybelline the Nudes Palette
- It’s the most affordable branded eye shadow palette as of yet.
- It is smooth and blends easily.
- 12 colors is a really good deal.
- Easy to apply.
- Can be used to create 13 looks
Negatives of Maybelline the Nudes Palette
- Doesn’t show easily on darker eyelids
- Pigmentation is low.
- Does not last longer than 4 to 5 hours.
- The applicator provided along with it isn’t big enough to apply properly.
Overall Would I repurchase and recommend?
Yes and no. Yes because it’s one of the super affordable eye shadow palettes in the market which works just fine for me. I can’t really compare it with naked or lorac palettes and complain about the pigmentation. One thing to keep in mind for the readers is to please go for the Made in USA product. There are a lot of Made in China versions of the same product which may cost lesser but the quality varies a lot in this case. If I can afford to buy lorac or naked palettes I would not repurchase it!
