Some back story here, I was never a Body Shop fan but I have a friend who’s a regular customer and swears by the brand. We were traveling from Bombay to Delhi one day and had a lot of time to kill at the airport. I had the Honey bronzer on my list so I went to get it.

My Experience with the Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder Deep Matte 05
I have owned this compact for about 3 months now and I have used it religiously since then. First of all, a bronzer is a makeup product, usually, in the form of a compact, which is used to bronze the face, give a nice tan and add color/ shadows to the face. Bronzers can be matte or shimmery but I personally prefer a matte one because shimmer can highlight the imperfections on your skin. The best way to apply a bronzer is with a medium sized brush which is not very dense. This bronzer retails for ₹1395 and has 5 shades from 01 for pale skin tone till 05 for deeper skin tone. The variety in shades makes this product very universal.
The packaging is very simple and sleek. The compact comes with a nice, big mirror which is always very handy. The packaging is plastic and light weight so you can travel with it easily. Honey brown color with golden text gives it a nice look. The compact has the pattern of beehive engraved which looks very pretty.
Performance:
Usually, when we hear ‘The Body Shop’, our minds immediately go to skincare and toiletries and we don’t even bother checking the makeup they have. I can’t say for other products but this one is clearly a hit. It claims to give a bronze matte even finish and I couldn’t agree more. I use it to bronze the hollows of my cheekbones, forehead, neck and my nose. Because I bought a darker shade, I also use it to contour my face sometimes. The color is a warm, matte brown but not so warm that it will make you look orange. It is very smooth and blendable. The powder is very finely milled and it goes on very smoothly on the skin. Because the color is so versatile, I sometimes use it in the crease of my eyes to give the illusion of a shadow. Usually, bronzers fade with time and wear off but this stays on throughout the day and it hasn’t disappointed me yet. With Indian skin tone with has olive/yellow undertones, it can be very tricky to find the right shade of bronzer that doesn’t make you look muddy or orange and I think this is a great choice.
Overall Performance of the Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder Deep Matte 05
Before buying this product, I went through a few reviews myself and they seem to claim that it’s a dupe for Benefit’s Hoola matte bronzer which retails for ₹1879. Although there’s one thing that bothers me. It is a little bit chalky, so when you swirl your brush in the pan, a lot of powder comes out and rests over the compact which is wasting some product every time you use it. But it’s not a very big deal.
Would I recommend/repurchase?
I will continue to use it because I love this product and will definitely repurchase it. It’s in between drugstore and high-end market but I think it’s worth the price you pay. It can be hard to find your shade through online pictures so I suggest you to visit the store and see for yourself. If you want to order it online, you can do so by clicking on this link
