Today I am reviewing Lakme Enrich Lip Crayon 07 Shocking Pink. Ever since Lakme launched their Enrich series lip crayons, everyone everywhere is going gaga over those chubby pencil lip colors. From my first-hand experience of these lip crayons, I could make out the obvious reason behind the craze. Firstly, these are super affordable and secondly, they are quite good in terms of pigmentation and shade selection. The shade I am going to talk about now is a bold shade of pink. Pink lippies never look unflattering or odd with any makeup look plus pink lipsticks have an amazing brightening effect on the entire look you are creating. That is why pink lip colors are one of the makeup goodies I cannot live without. Let’s check out the review to find out my quotient of shock with Lakme Enrich Lip Crayon Shocking Pink.

The Lakme Enrich Lip Crayon is a crayon form lip color with soft texture and smooth matte finish. High level of mineral powder in the formula provides the soft matte finish. Olive oil and jojoba oil supplies the required moisture to condition the lips.

My Experience with Lakme Enrich Lip Crayon 07 Shocking Pink

Packaging- This lipstick comes in a sharp pencil form. The body of the pencil is black and so is its plastic lid. The informative parts regarding the product are all mentioned in a paper that is glued to the body of the pencil. This paper flap is color-coded with the shade of the crayon. This simple color coding makes it very easy to identify the shade you are looking for from a set of similar crayon type lip colors. The pencil is quite similar to Lakme’s old sharpable kajal pencils. Though the packaging is quite simple, it is quite useful and travel-friendly. Considering the price point, I am quite happy with how these crayons have been packed. Plus, they give you one sharpener free with the crayon which is again awesome of Lakme!

Shade- The shade Shocking Pink is basically a warm-toned fuchsia with no glitter. I prefer this kind of red based fuchsia over blue toned fuchsia colors (Like MAC Flat Out Fabulous) because I feel the warmth of the shade looks quite flattering on the warm-neutral undertones of my skin. For the same reason, this bold pink color will suit the majority of Indian skin tones regardless of the complexion variety.

Pigmentation- This crayon is quite pigmented. It gives opaque coverage to my medium pigmented lips in 1 swipe. With 2 swipes the true color will come. This shade can be applied as a tint for lighter everyday looks. For the evening looks or festive looks, 2 swipes will bring the required boldness.

Texture- This is quite a creamy crayon but not of that annoying greasy sort. The pencil is easy to glide over the lips and the finish achieved is creamy matte. As this lipstick has a non-drying smooth formula, you can skip the lip balm application prior to it. After 1-2 hours the lipstick mattifies to some extent but does not become flaky dry.

Staying Power- This one has an impressive staying power. It stays on for 5+ hours for me. It is not free from transferring problem but there is not too much color transfer like the creamy lipsticks. This one does not do friendship with meals so you will see fading of the lip color from the center parts after finishing your meal!

Fragrance- This lipstick has a mild floral fragrance that stays for about 1 hour after application.

Experience- I own quite a lot of shades from this Enrich Lip Crayon range and this lip crayon is one of the most pigmented shade out of the whole range though it does not have the annoying staining problem on my lips. The shade is quite bold as I mentioned before but it can be toned down to reach the intensity of a tint. The subtle warmth of the shade makes it look good on my lighter skin tone as well as my mother’s severely pigmented wheatish skin tone. The shade is quite universal and can be worn with ethnic, western or fusion; almost everything in your wardrobe. This universal shade will look flattering on ladies of every age.

Would I Repurchase or Recommend?

Lakme Enrich Lip Crayon 07 Shocking Pink is a gorgeous red based fuchsia shade. I am in love with this shade currently so Lakme may expect at least one repurchase from me! And, I would recommend it to everyone. Just try it guys, you will thank me later!
