Hello, People!
Today’s review is going to be on Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Rush Gummy Grape. Fruit flavoured lip balms are my all time favourites. My special favour goes to berry and grape flavoured ones. But sadly, grape flavoured lip balms from reputed brands are really scanty in the Indian market. That is why, when I saw the advertorials of Maybelline’s new Candy Rush range of Baby Lips, I was pretty excited to try the Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Rush Gummy Grape variant. When I visited the store, there was only one lip balm left in this particular variant. I promptly bought this one without even putting a second thought. I generally do not make impulse buys but this time I could not help myself! Let’s move to the review now to find how this lip balm works for me.

My Experience with Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Rush Gummy Grape
Packaging- This lip balm has a bullet type packaging with screw-up mechanism. The entire packaging which includes the balm stick body and its tiny lid is of sturdy plastic. The writings of the lip balm bullet are colour-coded with the tint of the lip balm. Overall the lip balm looks quite quirky. Like almost every other Baby Lips, this balm also comes packed in a cardboard + plastic outer flap. The important details regarding this product are written on this flap.
Shade- Gummy Grape is a bubbly fuchsia shade. There is a cool undertone to the shade but still, it would look great on Indian skin tones. Though the shade looks ‘neon-ish’ in the bullet, it will make a good everyday lip tint for schools, colleges and workplaces.
Pigmentation- The pigmentation of this particular shade is the highest in the entire Candy Rush collection. But a strange fact about this lip balm is, it looks lighter on the hand but when it is applied on the lips, the shade becomes intense to some extent. Being low on tint, this shade may not show on darker lips. However, for my lips the coverage is nice.
Texture- The texture of this lip balm is smooth and creamy. It nourishes my lips and heals dryness with regular use. The moisturizing power is comparable to the original colour Baby Lips.
Fragrance- This lip moisture has fresh bubblegum type grape fragrance. The name Gummy Grape is 100% percent correct!
Staying Power- The staying power of this lip balm is pretty good. Both the tint and the moisturizing power stay intact for at least 5-6 hours without drinks or meals.
Overall Performance of Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Rush Gummy Grape
Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Rush Gummy Grape is a pink tinted lip balm with non-oily nourishing formula. It stays put for long and gives my lips a plump and healthy look. The shade of this lip balm matches with my original lip colour so, I get brightening effects with this lip balm. I have tried to use this lip balm as a cheek tint and it looked really nice and natural. I think, I will be using this lip balm as cheek tint more and more in the winter months when my skin looks dull.
Pros-
- Nice fuchsia tint; suitable for Indian skin tones
- Nourishes & softens my lips
- Non-sticky
- Travel-safe and budget-friendly
Cons-
- Pigmentation could have been better
Would I Repurchase or Recommend?
I would recommend Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Rush Gummy Grape to someone who does not have super pigmented lips and wants to try a grape scented fuchsia lip balm. I have almost 95% of product left in my balm stick. When I am over with it, I will probably repurchase it. Currently, I am targeting the Cotton Candy shade from the same range.

Such a pretty shade 🙂 and i love the decor in the pic too !
The shade is pretty but a bit low on pigment. But the packaging is awesome!
The earrings look so nice that I could not resist myself from buying 🙂
I love the bright colour though it doesn’t seem to be that bright on the lips!
If you like bright colour then try Bright Out Loud! collection of Baby Lips. That range has a similar shade with intense pigmentation :haanji
Will it look good on dark lips
I don’t think the shade will show up on pigmented lips. It would look like a clear gloss with pink hint 😥
