So almost every product from NYX cosmetics have taken the Indian market by storm and I wanted to try out their much-talked-about liquid lipsticks. Nyx has recently launched their lip lingerie range in India and I had to try one out!

Kylie Jenner has made mauve-nude lipstick a thing and every fashionista nowadays seem to be wearing it. I picked the NYX Lip Lingerie Cabaret Show Liquid Lipstick which is a gorgeous mauve-nude color for my medium skin tone.

My Experience with NYX Lip Lingerie Cabaret Show Liquid Lipstick:

Packaging:

The packaging is super cute and the lipstick comes in a nice clear plastic tube with a long doe foot applicator. The applicator wand is long and really soft which works well in applying the lip color. You won’t have to go back to get the extra product, one swipe is enough with this applicator. Due to the length of the applicator, I’ve realized that though it can be easily applied to thicker lips, it would be difficult to apply to thinner lips. The packaging is also travel-friendly and the clear tube makes it easier to identify the color.

Shade:

This range offers 24 gorgeous shades and most of them are from the nude family. My personal preference for nudes is along the lines of mauves or rusty shades so I picked the color ‘cabaret show’.

I absolutely adore this shade! It is a beautiful neutral mauve shade which can go with any makeup. The shade is highly pigmented and a single stroke is enough to cover the entire lip. It can easily cover up pigmented lips as well. The shade is beautiful for the fair as well as medium skin tones, though it might look a bit washed out on duskier beauties.

Texture/Consistency:

The lipstick has a very mousse-like consistency which glides very smoothly onto the lips and the application is quick and easy. Though having a thick mousse texture it doesn’t feel very heavy on the lips. It quickly settles into the lips and gives a matte finish.

This lipstick, however, is not very hydrating and I’ve noticed that it slightly cracks on the lines of my lips. So you might want to apply lip balm before applying this lipstick.

Finish:

It quickly dries completely into a matte finish so I don’t feel any tackiness when I press my lips together.  However, it feels slightly sticky when I press my lips together. Yet, it doesn’t transfer from one lip to another and it doesn’t smudge as well. I’d recommend applying a thin layer to avoid the feeling of stickiness and as the lipstick is already very pigmented, you wouldn’t need a lot of product anyway. It is worth noting that lipstick that feels drier have higher lasting power as well.

Longevity:

This lipstick doesn’t budge! You can go almost the entire day wearing this and you still wouldn’t require a touch-up. Considering the fact it comes at an affordable price, its staying power is pretty impressive. If you do have to reapply the lipstick, it still doesn’t feel patchy on the lips, though it might feel slightly heavy it eventually settles down easily.

Being highly pigmented and smudge-proof, it does take time and effort to remove this lipstick. I use oil-based makeup remover to take off this lipstick.

This shade looks really pretty on my skin tone. I love my nude shades and this is currently the one that I am absolutely obsessed with!

Would I recommend?

It may not be a perfect 5 but it is close! I love this personally  🙂
