My Experience with Benefit the Porefessional Primer:

After MAC Prep +Prime Skin Base Visage this was the next primer I purchased so now the third one. This is specially used for problematic skin i.e. open pores, unlike the earlier ones I have used. I must say it does what the brand claims about it. So, I was quite satisfied with the product.

Packaging-

I just love the packaging…it’s so cute and attractive. The color of the packaging is so soothing to the eye. The product is in a tube form which is compact and handy. It has a black cap with opens on revolving. It is travel-friendly. All in all thumbs up for the packaging.

Texture –

The color of the product is beige and the texture is light and smooth, easy to blend and silky on the skin and is oil free. Thumbs up for this as well.

Stay-

It has a good stay of around 8 hours.

Result –

It reduces the appearance of your pores instantly. The texture is such that it fills your pores instantly giving an illusion of smooth skin free of open pores.

Price-

The price is on the higher side but this product is a blessing for people with open pores problems as makeup looks really bad and untidy on such skin.

New addition to my highlighter collection. Pocket-friendly and travel-friendly, I love this palette.

 

This palette comes in a sturdy packaging with that signature leopard prints cover. Very classy I must say. They score full points for luxury!

Laura Mercier Fall in Love Face Illuminator Palette includes four powder based, miniature-sized versions of the permanent Face Illuminators:

  • Addiction (gilded gold highlight)
  • Devotion (cool highlight)
  • Seduction (soft bronze highlight)
  • Indiscretion (warm rose gold highlight)

It’s pretty neat, the same swirled, raised design, but everything is on a smaller scale. It is for someone who likes different highlighter shades and would use two or three of them…aka perfect for makeup artists!!

The product is buildable from medium to opaque coverage with a noticeable sheen. The texture is smooth and blendable, but there is a bit of dryness to it that seems common to these types of products.

On an average, the highlighter tends to last around eight hours. Though the stay of the product can be increased using other products like MAC Fix+ or Gerard Slay All Day!

Here are the deets of the shades:

Addiction (gilded gold highlight): a medium, yellow gold with warm undertones and a lightly sparkly, metallic finish. This is a tricky color but if you get it right it looks beautiful in sun kissed and ethnic looks

 

Devotion (cool highlight): This is a light pink highlighter with warmer undertones and cooler, violet and light pink shimmer. With sheer to medium coverage. It will never be too intense.

 

Seduction (soft bronze highlight): This is the darkest shade that I think will be excellent highlighter for deep skin tones. Very buildable, in fact use it with a light hand as it can give an opaque finish

 

Indiscretion (warm rose gold highlight): is a light-medium, rosy copper with warm undertones and a soft, golden sheen. Again buildable but use with a light hand.

 

Since the individual Illuminators are pricey, this is a good way to try them all for less than the cost of two full-sized shades.

Here is the Step By Step Process to Make a Great Winged Eye Liner Look!

Step 1

Draw a straight line from the end of your eye towards the end of your eye brow and draw till the point you want the liner to be elongated.

From the inner corner of the eye start drawing an outline of the upper eye lid

Again from the outer corner draw a line from the end point of the previous line drawn towards the centre of the lid. Keep in mind the thickness of the eyeliner you want.

Now join both the ends. Again here you need to keep in mind how much curve you want to give to your eyeliner in the middle.

 Eyeshadow Step by Step: Hello Dear Readers 🙂 Last week I had posted a  party eye makeup look. I got requests from many of you, to share a basic eye makeup look. So in this tutorial, I will share with you..basic eyeshadow application! See and learn!   😀

So this is the look we are aiming at producing!

I am listing down the products, I have used. Feel free to use the products that you like :)

Step 1: Mac Pro Long Wear Paint Pot -Bare Study

Step 2: Makeup Revolution Ultra Brow Extra Dark to Black

Step 3: Mac Eye Shadow – Vanilla

Step 4: Mac Eye Shadow – Swish

Step 5: Lakme Absolute Shine Liquid Eye Liner

Step 6: Revlon Kohl Kajal Eye Liner Pencil Black and Mac Lash Zoom Black Mascara.

Let’s begin the tutorial now!

# Step 1

Using your index finger apply eye primer. Blend it properly.

Fill in your brows, using an angled brush. I have used the Vega Angled Brush.

#Step 3

Apply highlighter on your brow bone and inner corner of the eye. I have used Mac Vanilla and applied it with Graftobian pro concealer brush.

#Step 4

Create a soft crease line using a taupe matte eyeshadow. I have used the Zoeva petit crease brush. I apply it to the crease and gently blend towards the highlighted brow, to avoid any harsh lines. Blending is everything in makeup!!

#Step 5

Apply the desired eyeshadow on the lid using eye shader brush. I have used the Grafotobian  Makeup medium eye shader brush. Blend the line with separates eyeshadow on the crease and lid.

# Step 6

Apply liquid eyeliner. Then, apply your favorite kohl. Finish up with the mascara!

Easy peasy. This is your basic eyeshadow application. The steps are all necessary if you want long staying eyeshadow, that does not crease or fade.

In one word….AMAZING!! The packing is pretty and attractive. A very girly pink bottle and the font is eye-catching 🙂

The wand is truly awesome. The spoon shape wand helps in the perfect application. For best results, I suggest you curl your lashes first, using an eyelash curler.  I am really in love with this product. It does wonders to your lashes and eyes. It Gives extra volume to your lashes and makes them look darker. The best part is that it is waterproof and it does not flake!

Direct application on the lips with the provided applicator.

My Experience with NYX Antwerp

Antwerp is a coral pink color. Though it looks quite bright in the tube on the lips, it does not look intense. It gives a natural look. It comes in a plastic tube with a black cap. The packaging looks good. The tube is small which makes it very handy to carry in a purse or even in your jeans pocket. It has an inbuilt applicator like that of a gloss which is soft in the application and helps the product spread evenly on the lips.

The best things about this product are first, it is much pigmented comes opaque on the lips. Secondly, though it gives a matte finish on the application, it is very soft like a cream. Thirdly, it is long lasting 5-6 hours on my lips. Though the color keeps on fading with time the shade remains on the lips. Since these are matte finish your lips should not be dry, they must be properly nourished. It’s better to apply after a lip balm application.

Apply directly, get a matte finish.

Apply on a lip balm, get a semi-matte finish.

Apply on a lip balm and finish with a gloss, get a glossy finish.

One of its kind product which is neither a lipstick nor a gloss, but a creamy matte lip color. It has fun to apply texture.

All of us know how a MAC store has a magnet in it and whenever you pass by the store it automatically starts pulling you towards it without any intent to buying anything but we end up buying something or the other. So the similar thing happened to me this Saturday….I was out for shopping at a mall and I was pulled by this MAC store and I ended up buying this lipstick. My experience with Mac Kinda Sexy Lipstick

I loved this one as well!!

The color(when I see it), The texture(while I apply it on my lips), The color(on my lips), The feel(to my lips), The stay all is wow.

The color is a pretty rosy pink, not too bright, a soft rosy color which looks so natural on the lips. Just perfect for that soothing looks in the harsh summer.

The texture is soft and smooth on application and keeps the lips moisturized.

The stay is medium…as the color is very light…you will need to reapply after 4-5 hours unlike any other matte lipstick by MAC… but still, I love it because the color is unique.

For me, this shade works well when I have full makeup on…otherwise it makes my face look dull and washed out. But for me, that’s ok as I love the full makeup look.

I think this shade will suit people with fair pink undertone skins.

So here I bring for an easy guide to help you choose the right foundation for your skin.

Foundation Shade Finder

Three things should be kept in mind before selecting a foundation. They are:

  1. Skin undertones
  2. Skin type
  3. Foundation coverage
First we will talk about Undertones

What is skin undertone? An undertone is a color which is just beneath your skin. Your skin color may change with time, but your skin undertone always remains the same.

Skin undertones are generally divided into 3 colors:
  1. Cool
  2. Warm
  3. Neutral/olive

How to judge which undertone are you?

Look at your wrist veins in natural light and try judge whether they are of green color or blue color. If your veins are of greenish color it means you have warm undertones or yellow undertone. If your veins are of bluish color it means you have cool undertones or pink undertone. If you feel like it’s a mix of both or you are unable to judge which color it is it means you have a neutral undertone or olive undertone.

Hacks to find out your undertones:
  1. Stand in sunlight and judge the color of your wrist veins.
  2. Hold a piece of silver or platinum jewelry next to your skin, hold a piece of gold jewelry side by side. Choose which suits your skin tone better. If silver or platinum suits you better then you have cool undertones and if gold jewelry suits you better then you have warm undertones. If you feel both are suiting you equally well then you might have neutral undertones.
  3. Take a picture of yourself without makeup in natural light. Look at the picture and judge your undertone.

So, when you are done with judging you skin undertone you will select the foundation according to your undertones. If you have warm undertones you will select a foundation which has a yellowish color to it. If you have cool undertones you will select a foundation which has a pinkish color to it. Neutral or olive undertones are less so you can mix the yellow and pink.

Skin Types and Coverage of Foundation

Not everyone has the same skin type. Different people have different skin types.

  1. Oily skin
  2. Dry skin
  3. Combination skin
  4. Normal skin
  5. Mature skin
  6. Acne prone skin

Oily Skin

For people having oily skin, the right foundation will be the water-based or oil-free foundation, mouse foundation, a powder foundation with a matte effect. Use a medium to full coverage foundation. Avoid using fingers for application as it may generate heat with the rubbing and melt the product instead of blending in the skin.

Dry Skin

For people having dry skin, the right foundation will be the cream foundation or liquid foundation with hydrating properties. Apply using fingers, blending will be better.

Combination Skin

For people having combination skin, the right foundation is powder or liquid foundation with more than 50 water content.

Everyone is going crazy about this beauty oil. I am not a big fan of face oils….iv never used them but seeing the popularity of this one I was much attracted to buy it. So I purchased it and today I will be reviewing it for you.

My experience with Farsali Rose Gold Elixir

The more I was excited using this product the more I was disappointed this one.

I first used it with my foundation. Applied foundation on my face, took three drops of gold elixir on my beauty blender and started blending my foundation. The foundation started slipping off the face. Somehow I managed to blend effectively. The way they show it on YouTube and Instagram it was not as effective. After one or two hours my face started looking dull. I tried two three times but every time the same result. Then I stopped using it with foundation. Then the time I thought of using it as a normal day moisturizer until that time the product started smelling bad and some white residue started accumulating on the neck of the bottle. I am not sure if the product expired or I did not store it properly, whatever the reason but the product started smelling bad after 3-4 uses.

The texture is smooth on application and blends easily. Its light weight and gets absorbed by the skin quickly.

It smells good…citrusy. The gold particles make the product look luxurious.

Packaging is good luxurious. Easy to use dropper cap lets you have control over the amount of product you use.

Though I have mostly seen people praising it and all makeup artists on Instagram are using it in their everyday makeup routine but personally, this product did not work well for me.
