Hello, my lovelies…
Every time I cross the TBS store I am tempted to grab something and on my last visit a month ago I ended up buying another one of their matte lipsticks. I had brought and reviewed Havana Red earlier and totally adored the shade. This time I bought shade 423 Rio Fuchsia which is an out an out bold pink shade with warm undertones.
Let’s see how The Body Shop True Matte Rio Fuchsia Lipstick (423) fared…

My Experience with The Body Shop True Matte Rio Fuchsia Lipstick (423)
The lipstick comes in standard TBS lipstick packaging with the same classy signage. This is a travel-friendly, decent looking lipstick which is sturdy and no-frills in its appearance.
The true matte fuchsia shade swiped in a gorgeous bold shade of pink on my hand. This wasn’t a subtle shade…it is meant to create a bright in your face pout. I first applied it to my lips without a lip balm as a base and that turned out to be a mistake.
This one was a little drying …my experience with the Havana Red shade didn’t leave any memories of dry lips. The staying power was great…I happily munched on snacks and drank liberal doses of coffee…the lipstick survived. My experience with the Rio Fuchsia was much better when I applied lip balm as a base the next time. I would say that the lipstick stays firm for 4 hours or more.
One small issue… the lipstick seemed a little difficult to glide on through the results were really nice.
Overall Performance of The Body Shop True Matte Rio Fuchsia Lipstick (423)
Frankly, though the color payoff is great and I am a fan of both Pink and TBS …I cannot say that this is an amazing buy. It’s entirely possible to get a similar and non-drying matte shade from Maybelline or the Lakme Absolute range at a lower rate. Though I am not disappointed in the product…I would definitely scout around and try getting a similar shade with more moisturizing properties.
Nevertheless, the vegan, cruelty-free and skin friendly stance of TBS remains a strong advantage.
Would I recommend?
As of now, I am happy wearing the Rio Fuchsia with a lip balm base. Love the hot pink effect…it’s so winter friendly. This is a decent buy…if you do not have dry lip issues then this will suit you good. For dry lipped girls…this can be a dicey purchase…you will have to give it a try to see how it works for you. Overall, this one is a 3/5
