MAC Gently Off Eye and Lip Makeup Remover: Eye-makeup is an art and glossypolish has many great articles on it, assisting beginners for eye makeup and the best products for it 🙂
So I also tried my hands on it. It is fun to experiment. Isn’t it? After all the fun part, there comes the other tedious task- u know what I am talking about… removing eye-makeup. I remember how horrible I looked when I directly splashed water on my face. Mascara melting this way, liner going the other way. 😛
And guess what..? I got ‘MAC Gently Off Eye and Lip Makeup Remover’ as my birthday present this yearJ. I am more than happy to write this review.
What is it and who is it for?

Price:
21$ for 100ml
How to Use:
Shake bottle To combine ingredients, then saturate the cotton pad with the product. Gently wipe over eyes and/or lips to remove makeup.
My Experience with MAC Gently Off Eye and Lip Makeup Remover:
This comes in a beautiful pink-colored plastic bottle with a child-lock cap. Yes, you heard it right!! A child lock cap. You have to press and screw open it. Earlier I could not understand the logic behind it but then I realized that because it is colorless and crystal-clear, a child can confuse it with water. Really thoughtful that is. 🙂
Anyways coming to the product- it is an amazing blend of water and oil. You can see the two separately if the bottle stands still. So shake well before use.
I first tried it after my cousin’s wedding with a whole load of makeup on. I had it in my purse with a few cotton pads. No leakage at all. So, 1 extra point for that. I pour a considerable amount on the cotton and let it sit on the eye for 10 seconds. Just a single swipe and voila!! 🙂 The eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow came out easily without irritating the skin at all. You may feel a little oily initially, but give it a minute and it will be absorbed. So, need to rinse also.
To be very honest, I am not asking you to buy it despite its amazing results. Because I think there are other economical options. Like, I once used Johnson’s Baby Oil and it worked great as well, though not that meticulously.
Positives
- Removes makeup completely
- Does not stings or irritates the skin
- A bliss for sensitive skin beauties
- No need to rinse
- Travel friendly
- A great brand
- Dermatologist tested
- Ophthalmologist tested
- Child-lock cap
Negatives
- Price is an issue.
- Some may find opening the cap a bit tedious.
Would I repurchase and recommend?
Overall, it’s an amazing product fulfilling all its claims. But what stops me from buying it again is the price. Once I am done with this bottle, I will look for cheaper alternatives. If the price is not an issue and you are on a hunt for a great makeup remover, just go for it.
