Maybelline Strobing Cream Review

Maybelline Strobing Cream Review: Although Strobing is not an entirely new makeup technique these days it is quite popular. This method actually gives an alternative to strong contouring in the matter of ‘dimentionalizing’ your face. The high points of the face that catch the light rays first are the places where you put some illuminating product and this simple technique will be called strobing. This method is way more subtle yet makes one’s facial features strikingly sharp. Today I am reviewing the Maybelline Facestudio Master Strobing Cream . This one is among the latest launches of Maybelline. Here is how I feel about it.

My Experience with Maybelline Strobing Cream

Packaging- This product comes in a black and rose gold squeeze tube. The tube has been packed inside a same colored cardboard outer cover. This outer pack contains all the informative details and graphical representation of usage directions. The packaging is sturdy, compact and travel-friendly.

Shade- This strobe cream is available in 2 shades; 01 Nude and 02 Pink. The first one which I am reviewing today is a warm golden illuminator (though it looks pink in pictures) while the pink one is more on the cooler side.

The shade 01 is the best option for Indian skin tones because we mostly have warm undertones to our skin. This golden shimmered shade complements that undertone. This shade can be used across skin tones; you would not have to scratch your head about shade selection!

Texture- Though it is a cream, its consistency is very light. When it comes into the contact with open air, it starts to get set. So, you need to be quick with blending if you are using it without any base product (moisturizer, bb cream etc). There are very fine glitters to the cream; not annoying chunky ones. So, the finish it provides has the perfect evenness. Plus it blends really well into the skin and gives a subtle glow.

Fragrance- This is a fragrance-free product.

Experience- I am not a ‘heavy highlight’ lover. I like my whole facial sculpting business to be a subtle one which I can carry easily. That is the reason I opted for this cream because this one provides you with a ‘naturally glowy’ kind of look. This cream can be used in two ways; as a highlighter or mixed with base makeup products. To use it as a highlighter you need to apply it directly to the areas you want to highlight. Being a blendable formula it does get synchronized with the base makeup product really well. Even an amateur like me had no problem to highlight my face with it. But, I like an overall glow most of the times. For this, I just add a little bit of this cream to my BB cream or foundation and it gives me a nice finish. I do not have too many acne bumps right now or this ‘mixed up’ concept would have made those more prominent. Overall it’s a good strobing cream that actually is quite beginner-friendly as well. If you want intense highlight you can always apply your powder highlight over it; it will act as a base for your highlighting powder and prevent fallouts.

Overall Performance of Maybelline Strobing Cream

Pros-
  1. Subtle highlighter with gold sheen
  2. Can be used alone or mixed with Bb cream etc.
  3. Blends well
  4. Light-weight non-sticky formula
  5. Works across skin tones
Cons-
  1. None for me!
Would I Repurchase or Recommend?

I would definitely purchase it again and since such a subtle highlighter with gold sheen always works. I would suggest it to anyone who wants to try their hands on strobing.

Rating-5/5
