My obsession with nude lipsticks has made me review another lipstick of the nude shade family, this time from Nykaa’s paintstix range. Nykaa is one of my all-time favorite brands because they provide some really amazing products at such affordable prices.

I personally feel that nude lipsticks are a must-have for every girl. Nude lipsticks give a sultry look which matches your skin tone beautifully and brings out an aura of elegance. However, it can be a difficult task to find the perfect shade of nude based on your skin tones, especially for Indian beauties because we tend to look washed out if we go for the wrong shade. Luckily, there’s no need to fret because there are tones of nude lipsticks on the market which can go perfectly with different skin tones and Nykaa has came up with their very own range of beautiful lip colors ranging from gorgeous subtle nudes to gothic brown shades.

I decided to for Nykaa Paintstix Nude Spice 01 which is a beautiful warm nude shade and is perfect for my medium skin tone. I fell in love with this color as soon as applied it. It is THE perfect nude that any Indian girl could ask for! It has a yellow undertone and it doesn’t look dull on the face. Let’s get into the further review.

My Experience with Nykaa Paintstix Nude Spice 01

Packaging:

The lipstick comes in a nice color coordinated tube. Though the shade name is not mentioned in the product, the colored packaging itself solves the issue and another advantage of this kind of colored packaging is that the identification becomes easier when you have a lot of these in store. The packaging is also sturdy and of course travel-friendly. It lives up to the name “paintstix” because looking at it initially, it appears like one of the crayon paints which I felt is super attractive.

Shade:

The range offers 12 beautiful shades from nudes to pink to reds and oranges. They got everything covered and the range is useful for every skin tone.

The shade ‘nude spice’ like I said is beautiful brownish-nude. It is amazing for medium toned girls, though it might look a bit more brown rather than nude for fair toned girls. The pigmentation of this lipstick is insane! Just one swipe is enough to cover up the entire lips and it is suitable to be used on pigmented lips as well.

Texture and Fragrance:

The lipstick has a very creamy texture which glides onto the lips smoothly like butter. Though the brand claims the lipstick to be matte, it has a semi-matte finish and remains a bit creamy on the lips, which is not an issue for me. Due to its smooth consistency, it doesn’t dry out the lips. The application is very easy and it doesn’t feel heavy on the lips at all.

Now I absolutely love the fragrance of this lipstick! It smells like cocoa and butter feels amazing after application.

Finish:

The lipstick feels so smooth and buttery, it almost feels like applying a lip balm but with great pigmentation. It feels hydrating on my lips which I love because I do not like applying lipsticks which dry out my lips. The lipstick doesn’t settle into cracks or lines in the lips. Further, due to its amazing pigmentation, a little bit of this lipstick goes a long way so this would definitely last long. Due to its consistency, this lipstick wouldn’t feel heavy on the lips even if you have to reapply it over a course of time. It neither has a matte or a super glossy finish. It looks creamy on the lips with a semi-matte finish.

Longevity:

The staying power of this lipstick can be an issue. It would last around 4-5 hours without having meals. Furthermore, it does transfer a lot which could be irksome for some people. However, you can always reapply the lipstick whenever you want and with the affordable price at which it comes, there’s not much to complain.

Would I recommend/repurchase?

I would love to repurchase this as well as some other lipsticks from this range. These are budget-friendly and quality of these lipsticks is also amazing. The range features some really gorgeous colors for all skin tones which are absolutely hard to resist!
