Sephora Mattifying Foundation: Sephora is a very well-known brand that has a huge following. Whether it is an amateur make-up enthusiast or a professional make-up artist, Sephora store is a paradise for every makeup enthusiast. Apart from having luxury brands and international brands product, they have their own line of make-up. Today, I will be reviewing one product from their collection, which is the mattifying foundation that claims to be oil-free. Read on to know how the Sephora Mattifying Compact Powder Foundation fared for me.

Price and quantity

$20 for 9 g/ 0.3 oz

My experience with Sephora Mattifying Powder

Packaging

The packaging is classy. A circular black box with a transparent lid to reveal the color of the foundation and a mirror just beneath the foundation pan. I found the usage of the mirror a little tough since it is just on the back of the foundation pan. The pan needs to be flipped and used as a mirror

Colour and texture

The name of the shade is mat tan and it has a soft, velvety, powdery texture.

Fragrance

It smells like compact powders. It is pleasant, and I love it.

Experience

I got this as a gift and I have always been a fan of make-up. Even before Sephora was in the nearby malls, I was eager to try out some of their products and this was one of them. I finally got to try this. Before jumping into the details, a small overview of my skin type. I have oily skin with light blemishes left behind by acne. Now to the product experience, it claims to provide an oil-free look which it absolutely does. It claims to stay for 8 hours, but I feel it stayed on me for a little less time, maybe 6 to 7 hours. Also, it covered the blemishes and acne marks on my skin and didn’t make my skin dry. I had this question in my mind that some compact powders make the skin look dry and flaky. But this one didn’t. Also, it kept my face absolutely matte didn’t allow any oil build up. Also, it didn’t clog my pores and didn’t cause any breakouts. This is my daily use foundation and I love it. in all, this is a great product and you guys should definitely give this a try.

Pros
  1. Classy packaging
  2. Mirror provided
  3. Oil-free
  4. Light weight
  5. Easy to use
  6. Doesn’t dry the skin
  7. No breakouts
  8. Affordable
  9. No crumbling
  10. Stays for a good 6 to 8 hours
  11. Great for people with oily skin
  12. Completely matte finish
Cons
  1. Mirror not so useful since not provided in the right space
  2. No applicator brush
  3. Not a very wide range of shades ( we expect more after seeing the felt beauty and hudabeauty collection)
Would I repurchase or recommend this?

Yes, I will definitely recommend this and repurchase it.

Rating: 4.5 /5

Glossypolish verdict: The Sephora mattifying foundation is a must-have for all those oily skinned beauties who have the fear of their makeup melting off or looking too shiny because of the oil build up.

Coverage seems to be good. Will it irritate bumpy acne?

Sreeparna, if the acne is like open and like a wound, it might burn a little, depending on the sensitivity of your skin. If it is just normal acne/pimple it doesn’t irritate. I have had acne and used this product and doesn’t hurt.
