Who is it for? Nykaa Sheet Mask Hyaluronic Acid and Pearl is for those who have dry and dehydrated skin in need of pearl-like glow. Hyaluronic Acid in it helps in giving the skin the necessary hydration.

Nykaa Sheet Mask Hyaluronic Acid and Pearl

Price:

INR100 for 20ml

My Experience with Nykaa Sheet Mask Hyaluronic Acid and Pearl

Packaging:

The outer packaging is just like any other sheet mask. The sheet was soft and soaking with the serum. In fact, I had plenty of serum left in the packet.

Fragrance:

This has some sort of artificial fragrance to it.

Skin Sensitivity:

No rashes, no breakouts.

Experience:

The paper/tissue/cloth used is thinner than Innisfree. It dries pretty fast because of that. The ingredient list isn’t that great either. All of the sheet mask from Nykaa have a similar ingredient list with the exception of one or two ingredients. Alcohol is present in the entire range.

I also reuse the sheet mask. Just dip empty sheet mask tablet in the remaining serum and use it again the same day. This was I make the most of it.

This sheet mask smells weird. It claims to give brightened effect. The serum in it is pretty runny and not thick. Even though it has Hyaluronic Acid, I did not find this hydrating enough. It did not wow me as the Innisfree Skin Clinic Sheet mask with Hyaluronic Acid.

Since the price is the same I would rather buy The Face Shop or Innisfree sheet mask.

What I like about this sheet mask:
  1. Hydrates
  2. Sheet fits well
  3. Contains a lot of serum
  4. Travel-friendly packing
What I dislike about this sheet mask:
  1. The fragrance is annoying.
  2. The sheet used in thin.
  3. The greasy feeling after using.
  4. Dries quickly
  5. Contains alcohol
  6. Priced the same as another sheet mask which is better
Will I repurchase?

No, it felt pretty useless to me.

Who is it for? LA Girl Lip Balm Rome Red is for people with dry lips which cannot stand matte lipsticks.

LA Girl Lip Balm Rome Red

Price:

INR 225 for 3.9gm

My experience with LA Girl Lip Balm Rome Red

Packaging:

It comes in a color coded bullet form. The balm protrudes out of the tube so one has to be careful while closing the cap.

Color:

It looks red when it is in the tube but on lips vary from light pink to dark pink. When swiped once it gives a nice rosy pink color. But when swiped multiple times it gives pinkish red color.

Fragrance:

Kinda fruity.

My Experience:

Even though the name is Rome Red it is not a true red. It is more of a light pink when swiped once. Multiple swipes gives a nice deep pinkish red color. It does not contain glitter but gives the regular lip balm shiny effect. This color would look good on all skin tones. I purchased this shade as this can easily substitute lipstick on a dry lips day.

The staying power isn’t great. It would last about 2 hours without a meal. This won’t fade entirely and a little would still be left.

I don’t think this would heal chapped lips.

Also, the cap becomes loose after some time and it just won’t shut.

What I like about this lip balm:
  1. Enough Pigmented
  2. Smooth texture
  3. Variety of shades available
  4. Light
  5. Color-coded packaging
  6. Inexpensive
What I dislike about this lip balm:
  1. Packaging is not sturdy
  2. Transfers a lot
  3. Low staying power
  4. The balm does not go all the way in.
Will I repurchase?

It was an okay product for me. There are better lip balms out there.

Puna Store Brushes

Who is it for? Puna Store Brushes  Set is a mini makeup brush set for people who prefer inexpensive, quality mini brushes. As they are small in size, you can travel with them easily. It includes a Blending brush, Eye bending blush, eye flat brush and a Kabuki brush.

Price:

I got it for INR 250 but the price keeps on changing

How to use?

It has 4 brushes.

  1. Blending brush: I use it for both applying foundation as well as for applying blushes.
  2. Eye Blending Brush: Due to the long bristles of this, I hardly use it for blending but instead use it for applying highlighter on cheekbones.
  3. Eye Flat brush: This is used to apply pigments on eyelids.
  4. Kabuki Brush: It is the best brush of the lot. A multi-purpose brush and can be used for anything.

Puna Store Brushes

My experience with Puna Store Brushes:

Packaging:

It comes in a beige jute bag. The bad is not an airtight bag. The brushes are very tiny and there is no shedding after washing.

Ease Of Application:

I am not much into makeup. This is the first brush set which I have bought. According to me, they are quite fantastic.

My Experience:

I was a little skeptical while buying this, but they turned out fine. I still prefer my fingers for applying makeup as I have full control during application, but this set comes in handy. My favorite is the Kabuki brush. I carry it in my purse. I use it to apply my Cushion Foundation, as a compact applicator, and as a blush brush. The set is a mini set; it is handy, compact, and useful. For INR250 you get 4 multi-purpose brushes. Quality wise I have nothing to compare it too as these are the first brushes, which I have purchased. Go for it if you are new to makeup and want to try a variety of things.

Pros:
  1. Compact size
  2. Multi-Purpose brushes
  3. Beginner friendly
  4. Inexpensive
  5. Four brushes in a set
  6. Soft brushes
  7. No shedding
  8. Availability
Cons:
  1. Some people may not like the small size
  2. No zip lock bag available
Will I repurchase?

Not this set. Puna Store offers a variety of sets. I might choose some other one.

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner Review

Who is it for? People with dry to combination skin looking for a chemical exfoliant. The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner is a gentle exfoliant that gets rid of dead skin, and dry patches and gives you a smoother appearance.

Price:

6.8 GBP for 240ml

Sensitivity Alert:

Initially, it tingles, but that is with any chemical exfoliant.

How to use:

After cleansing, pour the toner into a cotton pad and gently apply it all over the face and next except around the mouth and eye area.

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner

My Experience with The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner 7%

Packaging:

It comes in a huge bottle with a rotatory nozzle on the top. You can open and close the nozzle by rotating it.

Texture:

It is almost like water except for the yellow/peach color.

Fragrance:

It has no fragrance

Ease of Application:

The packaging is so convenient. Initially, I pulled open the nozzle but soon figured out the mechanism.

Effectiveness:

It is a strong acid so people with sensitive skin should do a patch test first. It gives a nice glow to the skin and with time gets rid of pigmentation, bumps etc.

My Experience:

I was a bit scared to use acids on my skin but, this was three years ago. Now I cannot live without this toner. Glycolic acid is an exfoliant for dry-skin people. It maintains the water level in the skin and gets rid of dry patches. The Ordinary says you should use it not more than once a day, but I use it twice a week. People who are just starting on acids should use it once a week after the patch test. After applying it to the skin it gets a bit oily and takes a while to get absorbed. It appears like water when you touch it but as you massage it into the skin it turns a bit oily. You should top it off with a moisturizer but I don’t. My skin feels moisturized with this only.

With the use of two weeks, it removed my acne marks, gave me clearer skin, and to some extent removed pigmentation around my mouth. It won’t get rid of blackheads or whiteheads for that you need to use Salicylic Acid.

Also Glycolic Acid increases sensitivity to the sun, so make sure you use it at night and use good sunscreen in the morning.

With acids, less is more, don’t start using a lot of it after seeing good results, it might burn your skin.

Pros:

  1. Inexpensive
  2. Big bottle, going to last long
  3. Gives instant brightness
  4. Gets rid of dry patches.
  5. Gives even skin tone
  6. Exfoliates without using harsh granules
  7. Friendly packaging

Cons:

  1. The Ordinary may not be easily available in India
  2. Some might be sensitive to acids
  3. If not used correctly, it could burn skin

Would I repurchase?

Yes, if this gets over and there is no other cheaper alternative, I will purchase this again.

Mamaearth Onion Shampoo

Who is it for? Mamaearth Onion shampoo helps to control hair fall. Rich in natural and hair-loving ingredients such as onion oil, vitamin E and plant keratin, this shampoo keeps your hair healthy and well-nourished.

Price:

INR 349 for 250ml

Sensitivity Alert:

None

How to use:

  1. Gently massage the shampoo on wet hair and scalp with fingertips, to work into a lather
  2. Rinse thoroughly, and follow it up with a silicone-free conditioner

Mamaearth Onion Shampoo

My Experience with Mamaearth Onion Shampoo

Packaging:

It comes in a sturdy white bottle with a pump. It looks good and is travel-friendly

Texture:

It has a gel-like texture which lathers well.

Fragrance:

Even though it is an Onion shampoo, it does not smell like onions. It has a nice natural fragrance to it.

Ease of Application:

With the pump, it is very easy to use. Just take the required number of pumps and apply it.

Effectiveness:

It has been a month and, well, it seems a regular shampoo to me.

My Experience:

I bought this shampoo with high hopes. I had hair fall and before this I was using Biotique Bio Kelp Protein shampoo, which was great, I just felt the need to change. This has a nice fragrance and lathers well too. It gets rid of oil and other dirt on hair. Everything is perfect with this. But it did not control my hair fall, the reason why I bought this shampoo. I don’t use conditioner, so this shampoo did make my hair a bit rough.

Maybe if I use it with conditioner and oil from the same brand, it might help my hair fall. But so far, it did not do anything for hair fall.

Pros:

  1. Ecofriendly
  2. No parabens or harsh ingredients
  3. Gentle on Scalp
  4. Travel-friendly packaging
  5. Lathers easily
  6. Smells nice
  7. Inexpensive

Cons:

  1. Did not do anything for hair fall
  2. Large quantity not available. 250ml gets over quickly

Would I repurchase?

No, not this one, but I might purchase the other shampoo from Mamaearth.

VLCC 3D Youth Boost Sunscreen

Who is it for?  Sunscreen is for everyone. VLCC 3D Youth Boost Sunscreen stays put even in humid weather. It is for normal to oily skin people who don’t want their sunscreen to melt off in the scorching heat.

Price:

INR 395 for 100gms

Sensitivity Alert?

I did not have any reaction with this cream.

How to use:

Take a pea size amount and apply it generously to cover all the exposed areas.

VLCC 3D Youth Boost Sunscreen

My Experience with VLCC 3D Youth Boost Sunscreen

Packaging:

It comes in a standard squeeze tube packaging. It looks small for a 100gm product. It is travel-friendly.

Texture:

It is white in color and has a very runny consistency. This runny consistency helps to spread the product easily.

Fragrance:

It has a floral scent to it.

Ease of Application:

The runny texture makes it very easy to apply. It spreads and gets absorbed easily.

Effectiveness:

It has SPF 40, UVA/UVB and PA+++. This sunscreen covers all areas.

My Experience:

Gen sunscreens are a boon for combination skin people. Normal sunscreens used to make me sweat so much. There was no use in applying them if they are going to be wiped off. This is a gel sunscreen. It is matte just to the point it does not make your cheek area dry. It is also paraben-free.

Pros:
  1. Gel sunscreen which won’t melt off.
  2. Inexpensive
  3. Paraben-free
  4. SPF 40 which is normally enough.
  5. Travel-friendly packaging
  6. Runny consistency which makes application easier
  7. UVA/UVB
  8. PA+++
Cons:
  1. It leaves a slight white cast.
  2. A weird floral scent.
Will I repurchase/recommend?

Yes. I love it.

The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Fact

Who is it for? The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors is for all dry skin people out there. It is a very rich moisturizer which spreads and gets absorbed quite easily. It is alcohol-free, gluten-free, nut-free, silicon-free, cruelty-free and vegan.

Price:

5.8USD for 30ml

Sensitivity Alert:

I had no bad reaction after applying this.

How to use?

Use this moisturizer as the last step of your skin care. Take a little and warm it using your fingers and then apply it on the face.

The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Fact

My experience with The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factor

Packaging:

It comes in a silver squeeze tube packaging which looks kinda chic.

Texture:

It is a very thick texture and you have to really blend it to get all of it in. It is not a lightweight cream so take a little quantity of it.

Fragrance:

It is fragrance-free

Ease of application:

This is not like liquid moisturizers it is quite thick. Do take your time in blending this.

My experience:

Taking the price point in mind I thought it would be like some light moisturizer. Boy, I was wrong. It is thick and creamy and a little goes a long way. It is supposed to be applied as the last step of your skincare routine.

Because of its thick texture, I use it only in the night as a night cream. Only a little is required for face and neck. Initially, I had trouble blending it in, but sometimes I use it with my aloe-vera gel to blend it.

One thing I did not like is it is just a moisturizer, nothing else, no antioxidants. But for this price, I cannot complain much. I wish there were some good ingredients in it.

What do I like about this moisturizer?
  1. Moisturizes really well
  2. Absorbs quickly
  3. A little goes a long way
  4. Travel free packaging
  5. Free from all harmful chemicals
  6. Inexpensive
What I dislike about this moisturizer?
  1. Long ingredient list
  2. Takes time to absorb
  3. Won’t be suitable for oily skin people.
  4. The Ordinary is not easily available in India
Will, I recommend/repurchase?

Totally recommend it for dry skin people. I will repurchase as I finish moisturizers really quickly and this one is a good value for money.

Lakme Lip Love Chapstick Caramel Review

Who is it for? Lakme Lip Love Chapstick Caramel is for people looking for slightly tinted lip balm for days when your lips cannot handle lipstick. It hydrates the lips and gives a nice glossy effect.

Price:

INR 150 for 4.2 gms

Sensitivity Alert:

Nope

How to use?

Apply liberally across the lips.

Lakme Lip Love Chapstick Caramel Review

My experience with  Lakme Lip Love Chapstick  Caramel

Packaging:

It comes in a standard twist-up plastic which looks exactly like Maybelline Baby Lips. I actually like the previous lip love packaging better.

Texture/Consistency:

It is a rather thick texture and won’t melt off in summers. It will also last long. It won’t be enough to heal dry lips but will provide some moisturization.

Fragrance:

It has a caramel scent to it.

Ease of Application:

The packaging makes it very convenient to use.

Effectiveness:

It is okay for a lip balm. It won’t be enough to heal dry lips but will provide some moisturization.

My Experience:

I don’t like transparent lip balms. They just serve no purpose for me. If I want something transparent, I could just use plain old Vaseline. Lip balms are for days when your lips just cannot handle lipstick. They work well as a lip gloss. This lip balm is not bad, I just feel I would never buy this shade again. It has almost no color. It comes off like a very light brown with multiple swipes on hand but the only little color comes off on lips. This does not even last long on lips. You need to re-apply it every hour or so.

So if you like very less tint to no tint at all go ahead with this. I may try the red of this range when this gets over.

Pros:
  1. Inexpensive
  2. Nice, convenient packaging.
  3. Moisturises a little
  4. The fragrance is nice.
  5. Many shades to choose from
  6. Travel-friendly
  7. Won’t melt off in summers
Cons:
  1. No color
  2. Does not last long
  3. Won’t heal chapped lips
Would I repurchase or recommend?

Even though the pros are more than the cons, I would not repurchase it again. Simply because I like more tinted lip balm. It is not a bad lip balm per se, just there are many other better stuff in the market.

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%,

Who is it for? The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% , is a High-Strength Vitamin and Mineral Blemish Formula. It controls sebum production and reduces the size of pores. Highly effected for tiny bumps on face.

Price:

5.5GBP for 30ml

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%,

My experience with The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

Packaging:

It comes in a frosted glass dropper bottle which is very convenient to use.

Fragrance:

It has a very bad smell, but only lasts for like 5 seconds.

Sensitivity Alert:

None

Texture:

It is a transparent sticky gel which spreads easily.

Experience:

During the months between winter and summer, my skin goes a little crazy with small bumps over my law and around my noes. It gets really congested. That is when I thought of using this serum. Initially, it made my skin dry but that feeling goes away after you have applied moisturizer. Also the smell. Yuck. You cannot smell it on your face. I had to bring the dropper close to my nose to get that awful smell.

It showed results in a week. All the tiny bumps just dried up and all the left was some red marks, which I got rid of in 3 weeks.

This product is fantastic. It controls excess oil and clears your skin of small bumps. This won’t control your acne. For that, you can use Salicylic Acid. But I will clear your complexion. All the closed comedones on your forehead or T-zone will be gone in a week.

What do I like about this Serum?
  1. Clears skin
  2. Control oil production
  3. Inexpensive
  4. For most of the skin types
  5. Niacinamide is amazing for skin
  6. Spreads easily
  7. Convenient packaging
What I dislike about this serum?
  1. Smell
  2. Glass bottle might be prone to breakage
  3. Availability
Will I repurchase?

This is my second bottle actually. I have been loving this in summers.

L’oreal Lumi Cushion Foundation (1)

Who is it for? L’oreal Lumi Cushion Foundation is for someone who likes natural dewy finish and foundation, mirror and applicator all in one. L’oreal Lumi Cushion Foundation shades are 6  and would suit the majority of Indian skin tones.

L’oreal Lumi Cushion Foundation (1)

Price:

INR 1150 for 14.6g

My experience with L’oreal Lumi Cushion Foundation

L’oreal Lumi Cushion Foundation (1)

Packaging:

It comes in a double lip compact form with a mirror, separate compartment for puff and an airtight lid for the foundation. The cap shuts tight and there is no chance of it opening accidentally in your bag.

Fragrance:

It has a chemical fragrance.

Sensitivity alert:

No rashes, no breakouts.

How to use?

You are supposed to take the puff and press it lightly in the cushion filled with foundation. Gently pat the puff on your skin till you get desired coverage.

My experience:

I love how handy are cushion foundations. The foundation, mirror, and puff all in one is best for someone who is always on the go. They give this natural glowy and are not at all heavy on the skin. Many people don’t like the applicator provided with a cushion foundation. This one seems to work really well to get medium coverage. The shade does not oxidize. It can provide sheer to buildable coverage. So if you want to conceal acne marks or something else this won’t work.

I like this sort of coverage, as it looks natural. This lasts on me for a good 4 hours after that I have to powder my face and I am good again. Oily skin people can skip it if they are not comfortable with dewy foundations.

What I like about this Cushion Foundation:
  1. Foundation, mirror, and puff all in one
  2. Natural coverage
  3. Does not oxidize
  4. Perfect for dry skin people
  5. Lasts long
  6. After this gets over you can make your own DIY foundation
What I dislike about this Cushion Foundation?
  1. Expensive
  2. Oily skin people may not like it
  3. 6 shades are not enough
  4. No SPF
Will I repurchase?
  1. Maybe if the price reduces
