Ayush Anti Dandruff Neem Shampoo: In winter I tend to try various anti dandruff hair care stuff because it is the time my dandruff issue takes an alarming turn. Last time I tried a Himalaya hair oil that promised to cater dandruff. Sadly, it could not be true to its word so once again I am in the quest for a perfect anti-dandruff hair goodie. This time it is the turn for Ayush Anti Dandruff Neem Shampoo. Ayush and I have some good memories in the recent past. I bought a face wash and a cream from Ayush’s Turmeric range and both of them had been able to satisfy me. Let’s check out the review to see if this Neem based shampoo could keep up Ayush’s goodwill or not.

My Experience with Ayush Anti Dandruff Neem Shampoo

Packaging- This shampoo comes in a white plastic bottle with flip-open dispenser. The packaging is very simple but up to the mark. I never have to face spillage issues if I have tightly shut the cap. The label graphics is the point of attraction in the packaging. The shampoo bottle has been labelled in lemon yellow and green. There are images of the main ingredients in the front. The detailed ingredient list has been presented along with the preservatives but the brand has not commented on what they have used their ‘shampoo base’.

Colour & Texture- The shampoo is an orange brown coloured liquid. If you take a close look you will be able to see numerous fine particles are suspended in the liquid. The Natural shampoo from Patanjali Kesh Kanti range looked quite similar to this one. The hair wash produces enough lather to cleanse the hair. It does not have a very drying formula; all hair types can use this.

Fragrance- The hair cleanser has a very unique ayurvedic smell to it. The fragrance has notes of camphor in it. The smell feels quite refreshing and its faint hint stays for 2 days. The clean fragrance helps to get rid of sweaty smell from the scalp and hair.

Experience– I have sticky dandruff which does not go off easily like flaky dandruff. Other than medicated scalp cleansers nothing could remove my dandruff completely. Head & Shoulders work for me but that too could take care of my scalp issues only partially. This Ayush shampoo could provide very slow effect on my dandruff. This shampoo has moderate cooling sensation like Head & Shoulder’s cool variant which feels very refreshing on the scalp. It cleanses the scalp thoroughly. It works on the itchiness problem from the first use. The dandruff gets cleansed in each use too but keeps coming back. If I be regular with it to use it twice weekly, the dandruff problem stays on check. So, there is nothing magical in this shampoo for extremely dandruff prone scalp. However, its formula is very mild and does not dry out the hair. My hair feels soft and smooth after hair wash. Someone with oily scalp may skip conditioner if the hair is being washed after heavy oiling.

This Dandruff problem is ever present isn’t it? Nothing seems to fix it :/
So this one isn’t fully effective, like a hundred others!

Right you are.. The dandruff issue is very stubborn.
This one is not fully effective but performance wise it stays in the middle. I have used dandruff shampoos that do not do anything at all. This one is of course better than those but nothing comparable to medicated ZPTA shampoos.
