Lip glosses are very winter-friendly products to me. They are moisturizing, gives nice shine and fresh look to the face. Though tinted lip balms have already breached into the ‘colour and care’ territory, the old glory of a glitter gloss is still there. Today I am reviewing Essence XXXL Shine Lipgloss 07 Big Night Out. Essence has a wide collection of lip glosses with various finishes. Matte, glossy, shimmery… you name it and they have it! Essence’s XXXL Shine range houses lip glosses with glitters and glitter goes really well with evening party looks as well as muted day looks. So, finally my mind zeroed upon this Big Night Out gloss. My Experience with Essence XXXL Shine Lipgloss 07 Big Night Out
Packaging- This lip gloss comes in a transparent plastic cylindrical container. It has a shiny silver screw lid at the opening of the gloss tube. The lid holds a long wand and a flat felt applicator. The length of the applicator wand is able to take out product from the deepest corner of the gloss tube. The informative details are given in the tube; though complete ingredient list is absent. The packaging is very travel-friendly and secure. The chance leakage is low with the packaging.
Shade & Pigmentation- Big Night Out is a glitter lip gloss. It has silver shimmers in a base of neutral pink. The shade comes out mauvy pink on my medium pigmented lips. This kind of light pink shade often takes different tint on different natural lip colour. This particular shade will look pink on less pigmented lips but the same shade would look ashy pink on deeper natural lips. The pigmentation, you can see from the lip swatches, is translucent. I have applied two coats of lip gloss to achieve this look.
Texture- This lip gloss has slightly thicker fluid consistency. It is not runny or sticky. The texture is very moisturizing and is able to give fuller lip look. It does not emphasize fine lines of my lips. Funnily, it acts as a great lip exfoliator! If I apply it on my lips and keep it for 1-2 hours, it comes off with the dead cell layer when rubbed with a tissue.
Fragrance- This lip gloss has raspberry fragrance to it. The smell reminds me of raspberry scented cough syrups. I won’t say the fragrance is awesome and all but the smell does not last long and is not overpowering.
Staying Power- This lip gloss, like most other glossy finish lip tints, has less staying power. It stays on for around 3-4 hours then the tint starts to fade but the glitters remain same. It does not survive meals or even drinks and transfers heavily.
Experience- When I ordered this lip gloss I thought it would be a peach shimmer lip gloss. But it turned out to be a mauvy pink shade. This happens when you put too much trust on pictures of a shopping site! However, the gloss in itself is a great everyday makeup product for the days I am not planning to do heavy lip look. In a single swipe I get shiny plump lips; the shimmer particles do not show up in one coat. If I apply another coat, the shine increases and the glittery part become identifiable. Both the ways my lip looks fuller and the dry parts get hidden. I have discovered another way to use this gloss. I apply it over my matte lip colours to bring glossy finish to them. Over lipsticks, the glitter becomes invisible just a stunning shine changes the whole scenario.

Would I Repurchase or Recommend?
Essence XXXL Shine Lipgloss 07 Big Night Out is a simple glitter lip gloss with average pigmentation and staying power. I am not repurchasing this; I will go for more pigmented shades of XXXL lip gloss range. This is certainly not a must have; you can try it or skip it!

so much of gloss but the colour is beautiful.. :love
I have applied two coats here for better understanding of the tint. In one coat the glitter part is not that visible 😉
