I am not a girl who likes to wear a full face of makeup on an everyday basis. I would rather go for a subtle neutral makeup look for the daytime and a bit toned up looks for the night-outs. I like statement eyes or lips because I feel these statement looks to bring out the best of my facial features. To create a flawless statement look the other facial components should be in synchronization or the look gets a bit bland. Highlighting and contouring are two most raved facial sculpting technique that fits these needs properly. So, recently I bought Maybelline V-Face Pink Blush Contour. This kit comes in three different shades for the three skin tone range (light, medium, and dark) we see in Indian complexions. I have light skin tone with warm-neutral undertones. So, my matching shade is Pink. Here is how it performs on my skin.

My Experience with Maybelline V-Face Blush Contour- Pink
Packaging- This contour palette comes in a square shaped black plastic box with a similar looking cardboard outer packaging. The shades of this palette are placed in the palette in a continuous manner. That is why the shades of this palette can be used individually as contour, highlight, and blush or as a blush-bronzer for the entire cheek area. Maybelline has given a pictorial how-to for the correct application of the products in the palette which is quite helpful for a beginner like me. There is a soft and good quality slanted brush given with this palette for ease of application. The packaging is sturdy, compact and all-in-one type.
Texture- The texture of the three shades of this palette is very smooth and finely milled. The powders are easy-to-blend and do not give the chalky finish.
Shade & Pigmentation– The Pink palette which has been designed for lighter skin tones has 3 shades. For ease of understanding, I am considering the leftmost shade as 1, the middle shade as 2 and the rightmost remaining shade as 3. Pigmentation of the entire palette is not intense. Even if one makes some mistakes to apply products from this palette there is provision to correct it. This fact makes it a beginner-friendly palette.
Shade-1: This is a baby pink tinted highlighter. The finish of this shade is neither glittery nor matte; it has a satiny finish. This shade is not heavily pigmented so it will show its true color on fair complexions only.
Shade-2: This is a nice pink blush shade wise very similar to Maybelline’s ‘Peachy Sweety’. It is the most pigmented shade of this palette. Its finish is matte. This blush looks really natural on fair skin.
Shade-3: This third shade is the darkest shade of the palette because it is a contour shade. The tint of this particular shade is brown with neutral undertones. The color-payoff is not very strong so it would not give much-defined contours if you are not going heavy-handed.
Fragrance- It is a fragrance-free product.
Staying Power– The products of this kit stays intact on my face for about 3-4 hours. Then they start to fade evenly.
How I use it– I do not use all the products of this palette every time. Sometimes I use the blush and the contour powder or just the contour powder from this palette and a blush from elsewhere. I apply the highlighter when I am going for night occasions. But, all the products are wearable in daytime also.
Overall Performance of Maybelline V-Face Blush Contour- Pink
Maybelline V-Face Pink Blush Contour is my current go-to all-in-one face sculpting palette. This palette gives me naturally contoured slim face with a little hint of pink. The shades are not that pigmented so I am being able to practice various contouring techniques with it. It gives a subtlety that I like a lot.

- Most pocket-friendly contour kit from Maybelline
- Compact palette with a highlighter, a blusher, and a contour powder
- A good quality angular brush is provided for application

Would I Repurchase or Recommend?
I would recommend Maybelline V-Face Pink Blush Contour to mainly beginner with fair skin tone. I don’t think I would have to repurchase this particular palette again because by the time it gets over I will have enough practice to handle more pigmented contour products.

So its perfect for those of us who don’t want a very prominent blush right?
Yes. You are right. For someone who has darker complexion than mine will have to go heavyhanded with the blush to show some tint on the cheeks.
the last colour isint even showing up on the skin! Such great swatches btw <3
The colour you are seeing in the swatches is the result of single swipe. With one or two more swipes the colour intensifies to some extent. But yes, the 3rd one is not a very pigmented shade.
WOW amazing review!!! :good: Blush+Contour all in one!! This is definitely a try on product for me!!
Try if you are a beginner or if you like light contouring.. :haanji
