Toni & Guy Classic Shine Gloss Serum: Hello ladies! Unless you are blessed with naturally silky, smooth hair, you probably need something to tame the frizziness and fly-aways that occurs often. I have slightly frizzy hair and it is struggling for me to tame them, particularly after I wash my hair and sometimes conditioners are just not enough. I am a fan of hair serums and I love using them because they can transform your hair in mere seconds. Recently, I bought the Toni and Guy classic shine gloss serum. Now for 600 bucks, the quantity was pretty disappointing but after continual usage of the product, I must admit it is a really great serum and works wonderfully for my hair. My experience with Toni & Guy Classic Shine Gloss Serum

The product comes in a chic plastic packaging with a pump. The cap shuts tightly and the pump dispenses the exact amount of product that you require so there is no chance of wastage. The size of the product is really small so it is very travel-friendly. However, I did notice while I’m flying and have this serum in my vanity, it does come out a bit from the pump but the tight cap prevents it from falling out so the packaging is not an issue for me.

The serum has a super light texture, though it is not watery. It has a sticky feeling though it doesn’t feel greasy after applying on to the hair. It has a nice, silky feel to it and also has a subtle fragrance.

I apply it after I wash and towel-dry my hair. It immediately works well in detangling my hair, which in turn reduces hair fall due to combing tangled hair. It spreads beautifully on to the entire hair length and a little amount goes a long way. I used two pumps and that covers the entire length of my hair.

My hair feels really smooth right after applying this serum. The dryness immediately fades away and there is no frizziness after its application. The ends of the hair can be particularly hard to manage because they tend to be rougher than rest of the hair, however, this serum does soften the look of the ends of my hair and my hair literally gets transformed in minutes after applying this serum.

The serum gets completely absorbed into the hair and doesn’t feel sticky or greasy at all. It softens my hair a lot and does add a bit shine to them but it is nothing extraordinary. Considering its name, it doesn’t magically transform the hair into the shiny goddess-like finish but it does control the dryness of hair and adds a subtle gloss to the hair. I have dry hair and this product worked well for me so I believe it would work for most of the hair types.

It does not add any volume to the hair and if you have thin hair then I recommend not getting this because it does nothing for the hair to make them look voluminous. This product simply tames the frizziness and dryness of the hair and transforms dull-looking hair in a matter of seconds. The product does not weigh down the hair though and prevents hair from looking lifeless.

Pros:
  1. Makes hair silky smooth
  2. Adds shine
  3. Detangles hair
  4. Doesn’t weigh down hair
  5. Non-greasy
  6. Tames frizz
  7. Nice packaging
  8. Pleasant fragrance
  9. Little amount is needed
Cons:
  1. Doesn’t add volume to hair
  2. Expensive for the quantity
  3. Might not work for damaged hair

Overall rating: 4/5

Would I recommend/repurchase?

I would recommend this product if you have dry and dull hair because it does transform the look of hair instantly. It makes my hair really smooth and manageable. Though for the quantity, I do feel that the product is a bit expensive considering that it is nothing extraordinary and people with naturally soft hair can skip purchasing this product.
