Spring-summer months are finally here. We are over the harsh coldness of winter to a mild breezy chill. This season change time my hair always becomes dandruff-prone. The dandruff of this season gives super annoying itchiness to my scalp. There are lots of medicated products for hair but most of them stop working as my hair and scalp get used to them. So, everytime I get back to my old friend henna. Habib’s Henna is my all time favourite but being highlighting henna, it gives slight reddish tint to my hair. I like the tint but sometimes you just need something just for rejuvenation purpose. That is why I got Natural Hair Dye |Henna For Hair by VLCC . It is tint-free henna for conditioning. Let’s check out if it could give that extra boost to my hair or not.

My Experience with Natural Hair Dye |Henna For Hair by VLCC
Packaging- This henna comes packed in a clear plastic pouch. The pouch is then kept inside a matte plastic outer pack. Both the pouches are not re-sealable but looking at the price it seems justified. The packaging is strong; there is no chance of mess up if the pack remains sealed. When the pack is cut open, it needs to be kept safe to prevent spillage. The packaging has been given sap green colour in accordance to the product inside. The complete ingredient list id also provided.
Colour & Texture- The henna powder has greenish brown colour. It deepens when the powder comes in contact with water. Now, this is a conditioning henna. It does not leave behind dark orange or brown tint. Unless the hair is completely grey and you are keeping it in your hair for 4-5 hours, there won’t be any stain at all. The powder mixes well with water. It is easy to form henna paste of desired consistency with this henna.
Fragrance- This powder has typical dried henna smell. There is no added fragrance or anything in it. The fragrance is certainly bearable and light. I like how it smells.
Experience- I have got pretty dry hair. Henna treatment with lemons and water is not ideal for my hair as it makes hair even drier. So, I use milk cream or curd as the base for my henna pack. This henna powder makes smooth and lump free paste quickly and I let the paste soak for 10 minutes. Then I apply the paste emphasizing the scalp. I do not like to apply henna paste on the ends of my hair as it further dries the hair ends. Twice a month treatment with this henna pack seems perfect for my hair. This henna paste cools down the head as the water in it evaporates. This feels very relaxing and rejuvenating. This henna does not make my hair miraculously shiny but it gives decent softness and excellent volume. Thankfully it takes care of the itchiness problem from the first use.

If you are telling that henna helps with dandruff, i have natural henna, i am definitely giving it a try. thank you so much. great review…
Thanks Smriti :love
I won’t say henna controls dandruff like a medicated shampoo but it certainly gets rid of dandruff from scalp temporarily and the itchiness also goes away..
henna is a natural ingredient, why does they contain paraben
Paraben is generally used as preservative too increase the shelf life on natural and organic substances. I really wish these cosmetic brands put a stop on using these harmful chemicals and use safer alternatives..
I use heena and they definitely help a lit with dandruff and moisturises my hairs… This one i should try..
Sure Prachi :love :rose:
Will try this product
Do try.. You might like it 🙂
Does it give orangish kinda look? As my mother is looking for a henna that doesn’t give orange colour after the application. 🙂
This is a conditioning henna. It would not tint your hair unless you keep it for super long like 5-6 hours in your completely grey hair. I do not have greys and I never keep it more than an hour and it does not stain my hair..
